Thanks MrMario, great tutorial as always. I just wanted to note something that occurred with me, to help anyone else that also has this issue. I did the HDDX partition and copied the compatibility folder there, but once I started an OG Xbox game via Aurora, it showed the Xbox logo, signed me out, and then just started Aurora back. The issue is that I had another launch.ini on my external HDD. Once I set the launch.ini file to be at HDD1, and deleted the one on the external HDD, it all worked fine. Just letting you guys know in case someone comes accross this :p

Ok so I'm seeing some people here are having problems with their console rebooting once they launch a game. The solution I found was that I needed to go into DashLaunch and disable all of the plugins I had running. This would work in the case that you have a trinity or corona model console. But if you're on a phat 360 like I am, you actually don't have to do this at all. In the situation that you have a wifi adapter or ethernet connected, all you have to do is disconnect that cable and your games should load. Hope this helps! :)

Disable plugins before running Xbox original games. Using AvaLaunch to launch the Xbox games seems to improve stuttering and frame rate. There is a workaround to run 720p games. I’m working on this to provide back to the community.

Huge thanks to your guides. I just got a Kronos RGH3'd a few days back (sent in for modding on Friday, picked it up on Monday this week) and it's absolutely bliss. I do have to get some time to slap a TB drive in that HDD adapter heh, the 500GB I used doesn't sound much too healthy. Also did a few "mods" (if you can name 'em that) like using a Elite case (as the white one was beaten beyond salvation, thankfully the HW was still intact), adding a 500GB WD Blue for now (until I can get a 1TB drive) and replacing the Xenon-styled GPU heatsink with a Falcon one - the last one shaved me about 10*C off the GPU after a solid NFS Hot Pursuit session (which would be like around a quarter of the game). I'll be keeping an eye on what else can be done, now that I have a nice Kronos RGH'd system. BTW, it rarely ever seems to take longer to glitch (about once in a while it'll keep cycling for a very little bit).

Have fun with it! Although I remember you saying you were getting that sent off. Would definitely recommend RGH 1.2 over RGH 3.0 for Phat systems, at one point down the line it could just stop glitching.

@@MrMario2011 Unfortunately 1.2s seem to have gone extinct in my country - I've been looking for one myself as I have a Falcon I'd love to RGH as well, with no success in finding any 1.2. The only route was getting RGH3... The install does look good enough so I doubt it'll stop glitching - at best I only get a black screen once or twice, with fans constantly twitching, though most of the time it boots up successfully with no issues whatsoever. I will keep an eye on the glitching evolution, though, and maybe have it updated (either by me or the modder who did the install) once there's any update on RGH3 and phats.

@@MrMario2011 I can +1 to that. I've done a few RGH3's for PHAT consoles and they just aren't stable. RGH3 should be reserved specifically for slim consoles. I did RGH3 on my trinity and it instant boots, RGH3 for the PHAT's I've done either don't boot at all or they do very inconsistently.

The main drawback of this all is that Xbox 360 backwards compatibility with OG games is so very messy, framerates regularly drop in many games, making them barely playable. PS3 hacked BC with PS2 titles is so much better because there're many custom config files for different games which makes them run better. I've always wondered why people never bothered with 360 OG emulator and didn't make some custom configs. Oh well

Games will black screen if you have a server loaded. I prefer to run no plugins at all preferably. I'm assuming because the files are xbe instead of the usual xex. So that screws it up if it's loaded while launching the default xbe.

I've got the Compatibility stuff running, no problem at all. But ALL of my OG Xbox games are running at PAL refresh rate 50Hz/FPS. Any fix or workaround for that? That introduces some other issues - I guess -, that is stuttering, slow playing cut scenes, slow, laggy (25 FPS instead of 30 FPS titles) gameplay and maybe more.

Very weird and niche question, I am trying to get this working on a JTAG that I left on blades. I followed the instructions and haven’t got any luck, it just gets stuck on the OG Xbox logo when I try to boot a game. I got it working on my RGH3 so I’m not sure what’s going on with the blades dash. Any help is appreciated thanks!

I just wanted to say thank you....your tutorial worked perfectly for me. Two questions if I may? I loaded that data onto the main HDD of my 360 and loaded the rom to the HDD...the game plays well. I can only access that game via going into file manager and then clicking it to load from there. How can I give it an icon so I can see it in "my games". Lastly, I also have a portable HDD plugged in via the front usb port, which appears in the menu's as USB0,and I have most of my games stored there, rather than the original HDD. Will compatability games only be able to be loaded in via the HDD or can they be put on the portable USB0 drive and still play, without also putting the compatability data onto the USB0 drive as well? remove your stealth servers in the plug ins on dashlaunch and make sure to save it too, i had this issue and it worked for me

BTW: Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks is NOT compatible with Xbox 360 at all (opposed to what the compat list is saying). The game runs smotth but can't register the WHITE button. Since the tutorial requires you to press it, you can't get past it.

as far as i know the white button is mapped to the left bumper, black to the right bumper

I installed the fixer and restarted my Xbox, now when I boot it up it says "Fatal Crash Intercepted: then turns off. What should I do?

Fixed by formatting the HDD.

after tryna boot up Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks and Rayman 3 they both get stuck on the classic logo and can't even push the guide button.
