Learning solo’s sometimes is intimidating. But I love the way you break down the licks in segments. Makes it a lot easier to envision playing the whole thing in the end. Great stuff!

I had the same problem for me it was a mix of a crappy guitar and not enough gain I’d recommend getting a distortion pedal

I can tap it on clean and low gain and all the notes sound with the same volume, Try just after tapping 19th fret kinda downstrumming with your tapping finger and then pull-of to 15 then 12, if you're smart enough you should perform it right :)

I know this is a really old video, but why don’t you bar the 15 on the section with the hammer on roll from 15 to 17 to 19 and then the pull off from 17 to 15, so then the transition to the next phrase wouldn’t be as much to move? Figured that would be a good tip if anyone else was learning this

I agree, this a cool-ish sounding solos but it’s not really hard to play. However, you have to come up with it. It’s like when a single bend defines a solo. It’s just a bend. Just one note but it makes it awesome. I think in this solo it’s the tapping at the beginning. It’s easy, but it sounds awesome. It’s fast and violent.

Tap hard and do a pull off when you lift your finger. I use my middle finger since it's bigger than my index, so it taps hsrder

@@jacksonjeff7207 2 years later and I can finally play it. My advice is to practice similar licks and build up speed. Also, making the picking motion tight and efficient is key.

I explained above check it out..and am happy to see I wasnt the only one finding the finger pattern difficult due to an injured index finger... I find this to be a more ergonomically correct way to play it however it is much harder.try using your pinky on the 19...thats actually how Kirk plays it in the official ONE video and live. Dont give up 🤘.

@@koiledkobra i also agree, fantastic lesson one of the best out there! but I watched Kirk and he uses his pinky instead of index on the 19. I injured my hand and found that its easier for me to use the pinky any way. now. hope this helps. if you strengthen up your index finger lift you will get it tho . lots of ways to build that pull off strength with the index out there. 🤘
