Just logged on to hear the full song then played the original and to say I am impressed would be a massive understatement.Really great lesson of a wonderful piano accompaniment from Mick Ronson so ,so glad you are teaching the original piano parts and not those poor mans lounge pianists melody versions that are so far removed from what was played on the recording,a truly brilliant and worthwhile lesson almost worth the subscriptions alone haha.

You might want to fix that narrative. Both Lou and his ex-wife insist that the song was very straightforward - written after a day out in the city. He said it and she says it even now. It's one thing to spread the rumor - after all - what you are referring to is true if you look at his life in the Velvet Underground and it does come up in other songs but even then, that was overblown. - he could never have accomplished what they did if he was that immersed in H. But since this is such an iconic song - why ruin it? Why do people always prefer rumors over the truth? The USA is under that curse today. If the song was about that he would have said so - he didn't hide anything. Be fair to his legacy. It was not written as a love song to a drug. "I meant what I said," says Lou and his ex says it's simply not true. Sheesh.
