In the C major scale, you taught us to C,D,G,B as the magic notes to use in cases we are lazy, wanted to sound good, or in case we do not know what to improvise next. For Am scale, what would the "magic notes" be? Would it be A,B,E,G or 1,2,5,7? Thank you for a wonderful and practical lesson. Can anyone explain what right notes the right hand is suppose to be hitting and why the “magic notes” works ? Is it the scale / chord tones of the left hand chords ?
@remirobedillo68612 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir for very useful lesson, awesome!....but i have one question "how do get the 4 magic notes"🤔?... again thanks 👍
@MangoldProject2 жыл бұрын
You're asking what makes them special? Well, root and fifth degrees are always very strong and fit with all chords played. D and B are a little more difficult to justify, but I guess they also fit well (as opposed to F, for example, which doesn't fit with Am or C at all). But there isn't very deep and organized theory behind it.
@remirobedillo68612 жыл бұрын
@@MangoldProject thank you sir 🙂
@strudelkopf Жыл бұрын
Amazing, thanks. I wonder whats the technicality of the magic notes? Are they just common in most scales or something?
@MangoldProject Жыл бұрын
1 and 5 sound good with almost any chord in a progression because that's where the progression wants to resolve to (so they're either a resolution, or they create a tension that wants to resolve to them). As for D and B that's a bit more difficult to "explain" - not everything can be easily explained, but if you ever come across an interesting explanation do come back and let us know :)
@anni16192 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have got one questions. Do the chords change, when the key changes (when the song is not in C)? And also, how many songs are actually played in a different keys then C? Thanks for the answer!

Why does the magic notes work? And how do I get them for another scales?
@MangoldProject2 жыл бұрын
The root and fifth for most scales will likely work. The 2nd will work with high probability. The 7th ... that depends on the scale. Beyond that, you're on your own :) As to "why", well, that's a question for a neurophysiologist who studies the auditory system. Not me!
