@stottieC to play it on the album you need to add: 1: one small cabin with in-built recording studion, 2: assorted analogue recording equipment (slightly dusty) and 3: a really old, but high quality acoustic guitar. Then you have it! ; )

@@Shaw4Life the concert was amazing! And I even happened to walk past Justin and his band earlier in the day as they were have a smoke outside their hotel (I was on my way home from work) - but I thought it best to leave them in peace rather than express my fan-hood! 🙏🏼

As a musically illiterate ear player for whom chords have no meaning, I greatly appreciate the "where to put your fingers" instruction. Thank you!

As a music teacher, that was fantastic teaching.

It's great to see someone who's worked out the tuning. Once you've done that the rest follows. And I like the way you focus on the rhythmic structure, and encourage people to master the simplicity of that and play around with the rest. Good job!

I think there's another chord too (which I saw on a video few mins back and I also think I heard it on the song last night when I was listening), that you didn't mention, i think. The one with the index finger on the third string (the third thickest string or the G string on a normal tuned guitar) on the first frat. and the middle finger on the second frat on the fourth string (so the D string on a normal tuned guitar). Not sure if the other chords are precisley correct, and I think you dont care as u got it very simillar, perhaps almost exactly like him? and is that really that important? But good job :) sorry didnt mean to be rude.. thanks

@stottieC oh, well justin is pretty good at subtle multi-tracking. he's a pretty open guy so you could ask him directly on twitter at @blobtower. But I'm not trying to imitate the album version, I'm just providing a cover that is fun to play without the backing tracks.

@dakotabeach33359 жыл бұрын
can someone help me with the strumming pattern here?
@elijahmandeville84758 жыл бұрын
I know you posted this 9 months ago, but why not. The strumming pattern goes: down, down, pause, up, down, up. Then it just loops through most of the song. You can listen to the recording and the brighter sounding strums are usually up strums.

@hisnameismoses Justin Vernon will tell you that one of his major influences is John Prine, who is a country/folk singer. Do your homework! By the way Bon Iver are musicians who make music. Bon Iver is not music in itself!

A couple of mistakes dude, nice seeing someone playing it in the right tuning and capo placement but after chord 3 ( x20100) he plays x02100, and then 220100 hammering on the top string if you get what I mean instead of playing 200300. Nice tutorial tho man :)
