Oh my god yes! Thank you for talking about how pacts don't need to be with evil abominations. A while back I wanted to run a Hexblade who had this buddy cop dynamic with their sword, talked to the DM about it, they said it sounded like a blast. 2 sessions in, while in the middle of combat, the sword goes "Hey, cut off one of your arms or I'll take away your powers and everyone dies"... needless to say that character did not last long

I mean, the 6th level hexblade ability really doesn't say "nice person"--it's basically keeping a soul in torment while you use them to kill their friends. That said, I let my hexblade have a relatively chill relationship with their patron, but their patron doesn't really understand things that don't involve violence very well.

​@@Chameleonradioa joke I made with a PC in Pathfinder, with comparable traits to the Hexblade. "Morning! What do you want for breakfast?" Sword- *The blood of the wicked!* "A bagel." Sword - *NOOOOOO!* "Two bagels." Sentient weapons, or the things that give them as pact boons, may *understand* regular humanoid morality, but their own inclinations or wants are likely to be very different.

This game is absolutely stunning and so much fun. When I first played it I was unnerved by sword boyfriend talking to me through my controller. The more I progressed through the game I relied and even enjoyed my sword boyfriends voice in my controller. More games should have a sword partner talking to you through your controller. Also id love to see a playthrough of this with you and Cory. You can get more eyes on this hidden masterpiece

Supergiant games are always such a fun time. Hadn't considered the Sorlock Trance of Order combo before. Goes to show that even after over 500 builds can still be surprised. Is good to see a Walock pact that has your best interests in mind and is supportive

Just discovered the channel, I love making builds around popular characters. After watching a few videos, one critique I have is that it feels like a lot of them end up Hexblade... probably due to a lot of protagonists needing to be able to melee and cast on the same build. I would love to see more gish protag builds without Hexblade!

Cool build! I've never played Transistor, but it looks fun. Forgot Clockwork Soul Sorcerer existed; it always felt more of a Warlock lawful construct patron to me.

You know when you put it that way it kind of does. I was working with my DM on figuring out how to make mechanus as a lock patron as they were already a clockwork soul so it made sense. Then I found a homebrew witch, and well her "grandmother" was the baba yaga so I went with that.
