I wish my coaches had explained this concept to me long ago, its so fundamental to having a healthy, consistent stroke. After a year and 3 months of playing and never having the ability to control the direction and depth of my shots, I went to a wall and practiced your linear exercise from your other video and the immediate lesson I had right after was completely different. Suddenly I can easily control the direction of my shots and achieve depth without effort. The problem was simply a stroke without enough of the linear component. Thank you!! You made me enjoy tennis a lot more!! Best tennis channel on youtube by a mile ❤

Grazie

I tried this yesterday. Wow, there is a big difference in consistency. Also, it's easier to get effortless power as you just rotate faster instead of trying to muscle the ball or swinging the arm faster. Thank you!

Thank you very much. your teaching help my tennis developed. I am just a amateur for 20 years really like playing tennis. Nowadays I'm thinking you are best teacher for tennis in the world. I've learn many skills from many teachers through KZbin. But they'er not better than you. your teaching is always fundamental and scientific and easy, so it is giving new inspiration for tennis to me. Maybe many people is watching your KZbin is all same circumstance. Thank you, thank you very much, my teacher.

Thanks so much, Tomaz. The relaxation, rotation and extension elements of the forehand always vex me. My club pro insists on a relaxed and extended swing. When I ask about rotation, as I have seen you preach the importance about rotation of shoulders and hips in your forehand videos, he claims that when I focus on rotation, I always rotate too early and over rotate . This video is brilliant and may help me to square once and for all the circular/rotational and extension elements of the forehand. Love your videos-they always answer my questions
@feeltennis7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, Kevin. Yes, if the player doesn't now have a clear picture in the mind how the rotation and linear extension work together, then they either over-rotate or don't rotate enough. I am just showing how I visualize the strokes.

This is the best tip ever. Just forget lag and snap things. I can hit the ball powerfully in terms of speed, spin and consistency only with this tip like the ball bounces once and hits the fence. Just want to add some. I feel if there is something wrong with a stroke, it is about the linear stage. After aiming carefully at the linear stage, I can rotate as fast as I can at the second circular stage. I am not the fan of tips like how to beat pushers. In my opinion, there is only one way to beat pushers: build forehand to put away loose or easy balls. That is it.
@brianinthedesert64687 жыл бұрын
Another excellent video, Tomaz. The flat sided "C" illustration via tennis balls is very helpful to show how the rotation/extension/follow through come together -- as opposed to overextending with a poor finish. Keep them coming!

Thank you for the video Tomaz. Player must be versatile, going linear for direction this is one method which is helpful depending on the situation... but the other one pros are now extensively using is open stance and pull side...Path of the ball will come from the head of the racket angle and is not much from directing the arm linear for placement other then specific situations. Yes everything should be done from relaxation and keep coiling-uncoiling.

as my first coach used to say: you need to be in a state of relaxed tension. meaning, youre mind has to be aware, but your body relaxed. the second part is my insight ;) think of federer shaking his hair away or stroking it. thats when he tried to get back to calmness, because he notices hes tense. i think this is crucial to tennis AND of course to life. the people who are too tense either get injuries or fail to win consistently.

what about the grip, is it lose befor the racket hits the ball? at least i do that while receiving the service
@feeltennis7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the grip is looser but NEVER to the point of having space between your hand and the handle. I have been correcting that often with players who loosen up the grip so much that the handle becomes wobbly and "loose" in their hands. That must never happen.
