Can I ask why you value Absolute Focus as a default over Transcendence? Is it rank dependent or do you genuinely think its better in most cases? I find that since absolute focus doesn't give you stats on the amount of damage done via the rune, I find it hard to determine how useful it actually is.

Syndra is a scaling champion, Absolute Focus is a scaling rune. The rune provides 65.25 gold value at level 1 and 652.5 gold value at level 18. It's almost a free blasting wand that doesn't take up slots late game. Transcendence provides zero value at level 1, 133.35 value at level 5 and 266.7 gold value at level 10. Basically, absolute focus is more than twice as valuable as transcendence. When trying to compare how valuable things like runs are, you have to throw out all of the "What ifs" and various possible in-game scenarios. It's impossible to know how often you'll be below 70% health and make Absolute Focus useless, and it's also impossible to know how much of a difference the 20% CDR on takedown of transcendence will be. The only real way to compare these two things is by the gold value of their base stats, and Absolute Focus is significantly more valuable than transcendence, generally. Obviously this gets skewed as some champions place way more value on CDR than others...just like some champions will place more value on something like Manaflow Band. Anyway, on paper, Absolute Focus is a stronger rune, and since Syndra is a scaling champion who has a %+ AP built into her kit and is probably going to also build Deathcap, she benefits way more from scaling AP than she does from the little bit of CDR that transcendence provides. Maybe Shok has a more specific answer than this and hopefully he'll confirm, but if he doesn't get around to it, than this is probably a good assumption since this is the way a lot of high level players think about the game and these types of choices. PS: Your personal playstyle has a large effect on what runes are good for you. It's not the best to just copy runes that other people say are the best. You have to match them to your playstyle too!

Honestly, I think both of them are really good. I prefer absolute focus because of the synergy with rabadons + syndra ap passive, but if you wanna take transcendence I think that's fine

Agree with 90% of this, I don't think gold value is a good measure a lot of the time and CDR is definitely more valuable than 266 gold suggests, but I think the extra AP with rabadons + syndra AP passive is superior overall because it just provides so much extra AP especially since normally you will be high HP when you're bursting people.

I'd imagine its highly preference-based, and that depending on how chaotic the game/skirmishes/fights would be expected to be based on compositions, you could make a good argument for basing the rune on the game. Yep it's pretty up to date, only things that really change are you can build ROA instead of crown if they have tons of assassins (although most of the time you don't need it) and yea archangel with first strike, otherwise go for shadowflame for more early game

What do you think about her recent nerfs? Personally I think it was a bit much, reducing her E's scaling by 10% AND increasing its CD by 2 seconds feels very harsh.

U don't level the E second so damage-wise it won't matter once u get to 120 stacks because you basically delete every non-MR champ, also u don't want the E for DMG anyway. The CD will hit her in lane but u ain't supposed to use E anyway when the CD was always high since the midscope update, but IT WILL matter in teamfights of course, you will have to play around the thought that you might only have 1 E per fight in the worst case scenario. The W true damage nerf, now that is a bit more annoying to deal with, but the damage now scales a bit more into the lategame so it kind of evens out. The nerfs are supposed to make u weaker midgame, but late game you are still the beast you are supposed to be if you were focused on stacking well. What the nerfs basically did is get rid of the people that just abused syndra for LP, but the OTPs will still know how to utilize her to her fullest, so I personally think that despite being nerfs for sure, it will result in a healthier winrate since she was at around 53 on mid-high Elos, and now she's around 49/50 which is probably where Riot intended her to be. So despite her receiving 3 nerfs, the only one that you will probably notice if you are not in higher Elo, is the E-CD nerf and while she is not gutted whatsoever, you will probably notice that nerf for sure, and it might also take some time to get used to keeping your E due to the CD. But people adapt and so will you, do not fret, you will be fine, Syndra is not weak now whatsoever.

@@panosthedarkwolf that's actually the opposite of true. Because you don't level it second the only damage you see from it for most the game is based on it's AP scaling from the items you buy and now that's just strictly 10% less dmg (edit: referring to her E)

Big question, how do you deal with a fed Kassadin? The way Riot's buff'd him honestly it feels like he is impervious to damage early, gets to his lvl 6 and can just beat you the entire game

Hey Shok! I know Lissandra is rather an easy champion... but I have issues with her laning phase such as her counters, runes, bans, roams and wave states. Her identity as a champion is very weird to me... she is labelled as a burst mage but she plays more like a battle mage? She doesn't really have enough burst anymore and in teamfights she has to rely a lot on her passive. She does have high scaling numbers but I wonder why pick her when vex exists? Vex does almost everything lissandra does but better and comes "online" in games quicker. Thank you so much in advance! ^^

I think Lissandra is a much better neutralizer than Vex is, it's quite easy to counter Vex in lane but it's honestly pretty hard to counter Lissandra so she tends to be a much better blind pick. I think you can play her as a burst mage (elec ignite) or as more of a setup champ (kinda like ahri) where you just go in and CC a lot of people.

Seraphs is pretty good on her, but I'm not sure its the best in soloq because it takes a while to scale. imo everything else is pretty much the same, comet seems like a decent option too for poke matchups if you want early game and cant proc elec

Take phase rush instead, it's just stronger on her right now, especially early. Comet arguably can work with a q max poke build when you can't get into range for trades with her e, but otherwise she'll always benefit more from a keystone that enables her to land more of her e

His only way to trade is also his only way of farming, just make him choose between you and the wave. He should either be zoned off CS or easy to punish since he's using Q on CD. Wave in middle is best

@@nkft1 early is kind of dog. But 3 items on and she's broken. If you get to lategame, you bascially oneshot everything with just Q+E. Her lategame will definitely be nerfed. I play her like a Vladimir with good gank setup. Just focus on CS. If you get 10cs/m you will always be absurdly strong.

@@islixxn tanks don't scale well. They have good base stats, but get nuked by everything with DPS or enough burst later on. They just provide utility. And other mages don't have her damage or zone control. Not even Viktor. She can even roam pretty well and has gank setup. Full rotation, 6 orbs without gathering storm, scorch or drakes does 5300 damage against a target with 160 MR. Viktor should be below 3000 damage unless your opponents eats the entire ult duration. (Full ap build without lich. With lich it's even lower) 3 items, 6 orbs without gathering, scorch or drakes against a target with 160 MR is 3000 damage. Viktor does.... 1500? At that point. And to both you can add the 15% execute. Syndra has way too much damage at the moment.

You should really look at Night Harvester as mythic. You don't really need the mana with your passive + manaflow. Feels really strong imo

@@ShokLeague Yeah the mpen slightly lowers the burst dmg in a single target pick, but the team fighting with NH is actually nuts, if you hit a multiple man stun they all take a NH proc (which does more dmg than a Ludens proc). Don't think it's always better, but especially the extra HP makes it very good in games where you need it, and 300 is a lot for a low base stat mage. Also checked winrates and NH has 55% vs LT 51%, I knows stats don't tell the whole story but it seems to be decent at least. Anyways ty for answering! Ah yeah also last thing NH is crazy cost efficient, 90 AP, 25 AH, 300hp vs 80AP/20AH for the same gold
