This is a really good video breakdown of how to play a great SD song, but the "FREE tabs" are not quite what I expected. They are missing a large part of the lesson in that they don't include either the bridge section or the accompaniment to the solo section.

It's good to see someone else who uses the middle finger for more than just expressing an opinion. Covering two strings with one finger leads to quicker play and another finger to add a sixth or ninth to the chord. That chord implied in the N.C. bar is probably an outlined B7 #9.

Love your teaching style guy...very glad to see you back. Seems that you always have a good song for us. That being said, I would like to suggest one that there just isn't a good lesson for out there. An old tune by the Amazing Rhythm Aces...Third Rate Romance...there is this little repeating lick in there that try as I might, I just can't work it out. Well, even if you don't do that song, I will still tune in to learn what you have to teach. Thanks for all your effort.

it's the funk chord B+9. James Brown used it. Change: F maj 7- Gmaj Fmaj7- Emin Dmaj- Amaj- Emaj- Emaj Amaj7- G#min7 (You tell yourself your not my kind) Amaj7- C#min7 (but you don't even know your mind) F#min7- Amaj (you could have a change of heart) B+9*[turn-around]*

can you explain more you are avoiding the pick on the thirds? I don't think i am ready for hybrid picking, but don't want to pick up bad habits either
@koho7 жыл бұрын
Great lesson - but listening to the original, I think where you have A should be Asus2, E7 should be E9 (with no 3rd), and the funky lick should go to F# on the 2nd note, not D#. Try this and let me know if it's not more faithful to the original.
@konradhof731811 ай бұрын
I’ve read elsewhere that the intro is indeed based on the Horace Silver tune.

Good job. I thought about nit-picking on a couple of areas, but then I realized unless the piano is playing, it makes sense to do what you are doing. So, for a change, I'll just keep my mouth shut LOL.

It's not too bad man, but you're missin the suspended 4ths on the C sharp and B Major chords and a few other "nuances" so far, the sus 9 in the chorus, "on the G chord" the C Major 7th chord in the chorus is correct, the chord progression during the solo section is good, but when you impersonate, the melody on the guitar, the vibrato isn't bad, but your missing out the legato slurs, and, just one last thing, the "motife" during the intro the 2 nd measure is anticipated by a 16th of the measure. But like I said, not too bad man, keep it up. Peace out man, GD.
