A note about Devil's Sight is that it also allows you to see in magical darkness, meaning you can see through darkness spells that both you and others cast. A great way to take advantage of it is to cast darkness on yourself, making it impossible for enemies to target you with ranged attacks (they can still center aoe spells on the darkness of course) and giving you advantage against anything in the cloud. It's a really great combo that i used with a Shadow Sorcerer one time (they get a similar but slightly different way of achieving this that requires sorcery points)

I’d really suggest taking the +2 to Charisma at level 4 instead of Savage Attacker. Someone ran the numbers and the average damage boost on a hit is just a little over 1 damage. The Charisma bonus gives +1 to damage, but also to accuracy and all spellcasting. Additionally it adds to damage multiple times a round while Savage Attacker only lets you re-roll damage once a round and it has to be weapon damage. Everything else was very good!

That's definitely a good idea, I tend to go overboard on feats- kind of assuming people will adapt the builds to their campaigns. But getting +5 charisma definitely helps this build.

I would have picked Haunted One as Riku’s background, personally. They get a trait called “Heart Of Darkness” and have a harrowing event of being kidnapped by a hag and them still having a hold on them, similar to Maleficent/Ansem SoD. Though, you did say that you’d only use the basic stuff, so whatever. Also, you could totally make lore about abandoning your old patron of Ansem SoD and moving to the Darkness as a patron, due to, oh, I don’t know, killing them?

So hexblades already get the weapon and armor proficiences you need to be a melee combatant without the fighter level, so the only real benefit would be the fighting style. You could instead just go full warlock, or if you still want the fighter level instead of 1 fighter level take 2 to get action surge

I'd probably go Divination Wizard for that, it would require a really creative player and pretty flexible DM. There are still tons of spells that could help in combat without fighting, but that usually means "I end the encounter with this obscure spell" which the DM might just say no to. Personally, I'd love that type of thing, but it's not for every DM.

I think Agonizing Blast, is slightly off for this Build specifically. Or at the very least should be swapped out when you can take Improved pact Weapon, considering the Keyblades Channel the magic for them (As the Invocation allows you to do so) seems a tad more fitting.

Episode 6 of the Fire Emblem stats: Riku. Riku is a very simple man in terms of weapons. He's proficient in swords and reason because of Keyblades and darkness respectively. He has a budding talent in faith, but at the same time he's bad at it. His strength, magic, and resistance are great but his HP and defense are not.

Instead of taking more levels in Warlock, I would take a few levels in Paladin (either Vengeance, Devotion, or Redemption) to better represent him coming to peace with his darkness and being a warrior of light.

I can definitely see taking the level of Fighter for story/character reasons, but taking it as a way to get proficiency with martial weapons is redundant. A Hexblade Warlock gains proficiency with all martial weapons as well as medium armor and shields.

Note: As a warlock you regain all (both) your spell slots after a SHORT or long rest. So easily more than 2 spells a day. Overall great video though.

I have a nitpick. It's about Warlock Level 1. On the screen you have a "/" between Hex and Shield. Are you showing us we could choose either Witch Bolt + Hex or Shield + Wrathful Smite? I ask because I did my research and saw that at first level you could only have a Max of 2 spells. Could you please clarify this? I am really confused.

GodOfKa he made a mistake. The two hex blade spells are additional options he could take not free spells that he automatically knows (clerics work like the second version so it’s a common mistake).

I really don't see what taking the first level in fighter does. I mean, Hexblade gets all martial weapons and med armor at level 1, and begins using CHA for melee even before getting the blade pact. Seems a waste of the HB capstone, a last ASI, and delayed spell progression.

As in KH3 Riku? Sort of? This build seems to be focused on Riku starting from KH1(as seen by the lv 1 fighter into lv 1 warlock) and building up towards how Riku would be now. I think to build Riku KH3 edition, we would need to do things a bit differently. I'm thinking full Warlock with some spell changes like lose the heartless type spells and possibly use more elemental spells(due to the events of DDD, he would in theory, know all the magic he could have learned from DDD) Edit: Maybe go with an eldritch knight route perhaps? Or use the Sora build he has but again, just modify some spells and feats
