1:30 Even if a player has less than 9 territories they must always receive three troops. Before playing the first turn each player takes they’re remaking troops designated by the amount of players and take turns placing them on territories they already control. 2:02 The turn goes in a certain order. First place troops, then attack, then maneuver. You may pass. If choosing to pass you do not attack but may maneuver, if you maneuver first you may not attack. Very good explanation on the battle however. Love the graphics!

​@@bvidz7447 Cavalery = 5 infantery. Canon = 10 Infantery. Thats all. Its to have less pieces on the board when you have a lot of troups. You can only attack with 3 troops max. So if you attack with a canon and the defender uses 2 troops and you loose the attack, the canon becomes a cavalery and 3 infantery.

Family get together this weekend and having not played this in over 20 years, I wanted to watch some refresher videos. Again, I have not played in well over 20 years and yet I spent much of this video going, "Really? I don't remember that. That doesn't sound right. Did they change the rules? That's not how I remember it"... and after watching several other videos I can confirm that the instructions in this video contradict every other source I have seen in significant and sometimes game-changing ways. I would recommend everyone to go back to your search results and pick the next video down the list. In my experience, it will have the more accurate rules and instructions.

I thought you could move as many soldiers you want as long as there is one left in the territory, not that you can only move once per turn?

I think these instructions are incomplete. Yes, you count the number of territories you have and divide that number by 3 (from 1:30 in video), but you get a minimum of at least three troops, no matter if it would equal below that. There's a minimum according to my 1999 manual and another "how to play" risk video I just watched.

Question : In your turn to role the dice.. Count the territories and divided by 3 and if you have continent will give troops.. On my second turn will i get troops. On my third turn will count territories divided by 3 and get troops... (I m not talking about matching 3 Risk cards and getting troops)

So one of the confusion I have is why does the video game version Risk Global Domination allow you to fortify to any of your bordering countries, say you can fortify from Australia to South America for example but by the board game rules you can only fortify by bordering countries? The video game version makes no sense.

Calvary is worth 5, artillery is worth 10- you just have to do the math in your head or trade for 5 or 10 men if you’re about to attack to make it easier to keep track of! So using one artillery would be like using 10 single troops to attack! The number would just go down if you lose troops and you’d need to trade it for men- for example: you’re using artillery and you roll 2 dice, you lose both against the defender- that means you have 8 now. So you could take off the artillery and trade it for 8 men, or trade it for 1 Calvary (worth 5) plus 3 men.

When I learn a game I tend to read the rule book and then I try to find a "how to" video. This is not how I interpreted the rules. I did not see any mention of how many armies you start with in my rules, only that jokers are taken out of the deck and dealt out as even as possible. Those cards dictate starting army placement. Cards get shuffled again once all armies are placed with the jokers and that make the draw deck. 1 movement action is allowed only after all the players attacks have performed. *Attacking armies that capture a territory must move at least the number of armies equal to the dice they threw but must also leave 1 army where they attacked from (I think, I was hoping this video could verify that but there's too many differences in our interpretations that I'm going to have to find a different video)

if you’re defending you have a maximum of 2 dice, you can chose how many you use, if you’re defending with one troop use one dice, if you’re defending with two, you use two dice… if you’re attacking with for example 4 soldiers than u can use 3 dice, if you attack with 3 soldiers you use 2 dice and so on if the attacker and defender draw, the defender wins if the attacker gets higher the attacker wins if the defender gets higher the attacker loses
