Great lesson, thanks Kelly. Keep the BadCo coming! Mick Ralphs is very underrated, I just love his playing. Very good rhythm player and love his melodic solos.

Not a guitar player (except in my dreams) but Bad Company (Simon Kirke) was why I play drums (46 years now)! I've always loved and appreciated how Ralphs played guitar... such feel and emphasis, emotional and tasty leads (love the slides)... such an awesome true rock band where nobody overplayed the other members but just complimented each member. You can be a bass player, drummer, guitar player or singer, focus on their parts in the song and hear genius and magic. Truly "a band" of mates playing their instruments/voice with love and skill! Thank you... you played it PERFECTLY!

80s I was lead singer in a band. We did this. But I didn't play guitar. I do now. 18 years of serious playing. Thank you Kelly. Rocking out the shit. Love your lessons.

Mick Ralphs is right up there on my list of truly musical guitarists ( as opposed to technical geniuses) who can take a simple idea and craft it into a memorable song and when you hear it you think "why has no one come up with that before"-his contribution to early Mott was considerable also in this vein. His guitar solos are usually a model of economy and sit so well with the song.Mick Jones of Foreigner is similar.Great lesson -thanks

WOW Kismet!! - funny enough, although I wore out the cassette and still listen to the cd - I was driving today and on Sirius XM came Rock Steady & for some reason it struck me like never before. I said to myself, That's about as Rock n Roll as it gets. I'm gonna learn that one this weekend - Love the interplay with the bassist on the recording too. Thanks for making my homework a little easier KDA!!!!!!!!!

The video title confused me :) I clicked because I thought it was about how to play the music genre called "rock steady" (ska or uptempo reggae). To make things worse, there's a ska band called Bad Manners the name similar to Bad Company

And while I'm asking questions, wouldn't it be better to have a backing track playing, especially on your initial play through? It would give context to the solo sections you are trying to teach. And last thought, really appreciate moving through your lessons like we have a brain. I hate the note by note tutorials.

Backing tracks always come with the threat of a copyright claim and/or strike. I try to avoid both as much as possible.

@@KellyDeanAllenGuitarthat explains it, well I just became a Patreon supporter but I had to sort of join via a little back door trick as when I clicked on become a member, no page loaded, it just showed your name at the top with nothing else, so I just selected a lesson and that worked. Maybe it’s because I was doing everything on my iPad, 🤷♂️
