Hey, did you notice anything I got wrong? Reply to this comment and I'll add a note if needed.

Oh, and to get ahead of one potential correction. The designers have confirmed on BGG that when a bot does something that should lead to another bot drawing a card, that triggers the same as if a human did it.

@Narri L You have it right, moving always exhausts one item. Sorry, I figured that was self-explanatory, but I'll add a note.

At 6:44 I dont think you can craft the Investments card for the Eyrie as you cant activate 2 rabbit-roosts for the card cost
@RTFM2 жыл бұрын
@@darrylmacbeath9414 Bots don't actually need to activate crafting pieces in order to make items, they just need for the item to be in the supply.

At 5:34, would they attack another bot? What if there were 3 birds and a sympathy, would they focus on the sympathy? Thanks. I have more questions, but haven’t finished the video yet-so maybe they’re answered there.

a) Do more Root videos b) You've convinced me to get the inserts for my Dresden dice bins

a. I've got an Underworld video coming up soon. b. Glad to hear it! It's definitely more comfortable to lean on when you have the dice bin covers in

If I am not mistaken you make a mistake when recruiting with the Mechanical Marquise m, since you split their four warriors among the matching clearing they rule. So I am not sure but I think you shouldn’t recruit in number 9 (5:40). Not a real rule master so…
@RTFM2 жыл бұрын
You are correct about that. Good eye! Someone else spotted that a little while ago, so there's a note in the klingon subtitles and the description.

I think that the Electric Eyrie resolves the decree by column, then by steps. You did the steps for all columns at once. So, one would recruit, move, battle all with foxes, then move on to mice to do the same and so on. See example turn in the rule book.
@RTFM2 жыл бұрын
So I double checked the rulebook and the example turn, and the way I've presented it here is the same as how it's shown there. You do all the recruits for each column, then all the moves, then the battles.
@roverscott2 жыл бұрын
I wonder if you have a different version than me (if there are different versions). I have the first printing, June, 2019. The example turn has paragraphs for each column and clearly indicates each column resolved completely before starting the next column. Here is the snippet from the rules: "You must resolve the Decree, starting with the leftmost column and moving right. In each column you resolve, you must resolve the following actions on order."
@RTFM2 жыл бұрын
@@roverscott That's definitely different from how it is now. Looking online at the current "Law of Rootbotics" it says "Resolve the Decree. Recruit for each column in the Decree with at least one card from left to right. Then move in the same way. Then battle in the same way." What you said looks pretty close to what it says for the regular Eyrie, but the Electric Eyrie are definitely different.

@@RTFM Nice. I'll have to compare rules for the other factions also. I find with the rules I was working from the birds tend to clump in a low priority clearing. Perhaps this rule change was meant to address this issue.

@RTFM at 11:49 if both Alliance and Cats would be a human players, Vagabot would attack Alliance not Cats right? Although you said Vagabot attacks Cats bc they have more enemy pieces... but faction with more VPs should be Vagabot's target - not the one with more pieces... yes ?
@Zonk6962 жыл бұрын
and also: why max 2 hits? You have 9+ items, you should be able to make 3 hits according to Vagabot Combat Track

Great video! Did you use the 'vanilla' Eyrie bot, or the errata one? I got my copy from the original clockwork print run and my Eyrie are bugged because they can get an infinite loop walking between 2 clearings
@RTFM3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They've updated the Eyrie for the current print run. I wasn't actually aware that it had been changed, but after looking into it, I do seem to have the updated version.

When you did recruit for the cats you added a car in clearing #9 which doesn’t seem like they have rule in?

Hello, nice video Question Are you sure that the highest priority is 1 and not 12?
@RTFM7 ай бұрын
Yes. In the Law of Rootbotics it specifically states that 1 is the highest priority and 12 is the lowest.

What if the marquise don’t rule any clearings?
@RTFM2 жыл бұрын
If this happens, they won't be able to recruit, but it's unlikely that this state will occur at all, let alone exist for very long. The cats are very good at producing more cats, and when their ruled locations start to dwindle, their recruitment becomes more focused.

Does this increase the playercount to 8?
@RTFM2 жыл бұрын
I didn't see anything in the rules about that. I will say that even if you could, I wouldn't recommend it. There would just be way too much downtime between turns. Personally, I think even playing it at 6 is too much.

Some of them can be, though if you're only playing with one at a time, it's usually pretty manageable.
