Been watching some of your tutorials they are great. Thank you so much, I love Brazilian music and have been listening to it since the 1960's when my father brought home a Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66 album. I recently started learning guitar and thought it would be wonderful to try to learn some Bossa Nova. Regarsds, Shawn Keren

Wow! That's so cool! What a great album to start with! What has it been like to learn Bossa Nova songs on the guitar?

@@RobsongsMusic Vou falar agora en Inglés. I love playing samba and bossa nova, on the guitar and on the bass. But with Mas Que Nada, the Sergio Mendes version, I could never really "fit" into the rhythm, especially the chromatic downward progression that comes before "esse samba que e feito de maracatu". It has been bothering me for ever. I know about 4 different samba rhythms, and some fit very well, but none fit *perfectly*. So, since I had seen one of your videos before, I clicked on your page to see what else you had, and maybe could help. And I found this video, posted just a few hours earlier! What are the chances? It is exactly the answer I was looking for. I never heard of Partido Alto (nor any of the other subgenres? or batidas? de samba). Super interesting... now I want to learn more about samba and the different possible samba rhythms. And I need to practice, of course ;-)

@@renevanbavel6998 that's great! Yes, Partido alto fits perfectly well with Mas que nada! Of course you can vary the rhythm and use other possibilities too! Samba is a huge universe of rhythms, harmonies and culture. It can be an amazing way to expand your music skills as well as your worldview! Enjoy it! :)
