Wow it's been so hot! I decided to shoot this scales video early in the morning at the lake, it was gorgeous! There were quite a few people around for early morning walks and swims, so I played music after recording the scales video. Do you recognize the song at the end of the video? Can you pick out some things that I did differently from the original?? Let me know how you are doing with your scales. I hope you are ready for a big level up because I've got a new project coming!

I’m not an absolute beginner anymore but still watch, enjoy and appreciate how you so articulately show the details that matter so much. You truly are an amazing teacher. 🙏🌸❤️

The takeaway from this lesson is that before plucking each note in the scale, the finger which will be playing the following note should already be placed. A very nice and important lesson!

I really enjoyed the mini lesson being held at the lake. Wonderful relaxing setting in which to instruct us. Not only was the lesson helpful it will give us ample opportunity to tackle "hover, open, place". Thanks! 👒

It was fun teaching at the lake... one of the perks for harp players!

I learned a couple of things from this video, Anne, particularly about the thumb pop and about leaving fingers 3 and 4 in the palm when crossing in the ascending direction, though I feel a bit of tension when trying to keep them in the palm like that while opening 4 and 5. The lake environment made this little lesson especially nice and enjoyable!

I like to use the word “allow”, to remind my fingers not to force something that feels uncomfortable. Working slowly also helps my hand to relax between each note.

Lovely and informative video, as usual! Lately I’ve been learning more about modes, so I’ve been playing modal scales in they key of C. They are pleasant except for Locrian 😵💫🥴😑 Edited to add: I need to bring out Just for You. Love your additions!

Gosh, I think I was just using my little Shure MV-88 on my iPhone for this. I don't normally record outdoors, this was just a simple little set-up.
