You're the first person to explain how to get armour on his DB3. I wish I could press the amp and just get armour and not go invisible, sort of like you said. As another point if you want to just go invisible, you can cancel his DB4 and you turn invisible. It works whether you cancel before or after the teleport.

I'm mostly new to MK and fighting games in general. I've been trying to get the Smoke combos and cancels down pat. I have the cancel you're talking about down. If it helps any, I start the cancel as soon as you see him slash up with the blade before he makes the X cuts across the body. This seems to work consistently for me.

Don't buffer the cancel before the string comes out, u have to initiate the cancel right when u see him turn into a puff of smoke, the timing is weird but once u get the rhythm and timing down u can pull it off more consistently.

How to *really* play smoke: spam db4 and db2 teleports with a few basic low and overhead strings, sprinkle in 50/50 mixups and you’re good to go. Edit: this is just a joke, before you start whining in the replies.

not sure what db3 is. Db2 tele is block punishable. And if you enhance, you can still hit them out of air anyway. Smoke has no true 50/50 mixups, the overhead is 28 frames which is beyond reactable. Only true mixup is when hes invis, and you can down jab him out of invis immediately, it also costs him a bar. He is not a good character, and the fact you think hes annoying or OP only shows how bad you are at the game

You do down back 4 and then press right immediately after to cancel it, you can do it in the air or on the ground but if you do it on the ground and amplify you go invisible while if you do it in the air you just switch sides.
