Toby Smith's Rhodes part from 'Space Cowboy' from Jamiroquai's second album 'Return Of The Space Cowboy'. The sophomore effort by Jamiroquai showcases Toby's incredible sounding suitcase Rhodes right from the opening of the album, which is a descending wholetone scale at the start of 'Just Another Story'. 'Space Cowboy' is the title track and is an interesting track in that this album version featured a mystery bass player 'Mr X' (later revealed to be Paul Powell) and the single / video version featured Stuart Zender. According to an interview on Stu's website, he was already due to be away with his girlfriend at that time and Paul was drafted in to record the album version of this song when the session was arranged last minute. Paul and Stu are very different players and both brilliant - so whatever the circumstances surrounding what happened, it's great for Jamiroquai fans that they can enjoy hearing both players on this track.

That would be great to do at some point! On my dream shopping list are a Memorymoog, Source and Minimoog. From what I've read and seen, Toby first started with the Minimoog on stage but it was temperamental to say the least and of course the Source made performance a lot easier with presets. At the moment I'm working through all the Rhodes parts but I'd love to go through all the Moog parts sometime, yes!
