low D and #C are naturally sharp. The third of first slide helps lower them.

The notes D and C# are out of tune on the trumpet. It’s just how it’s made. You’ll want to kick the 3rd valve slide out for the note of D but you should be fine with C#. This is not the case for any other D’s or C#’s in the middle of the staff nor above the staff.

I decided to relearn the trumpet after 30 years to valves/fingerings to concert scale, where "trumpet C" is a "concert/piano Bb". As a keyboardist/pianist, it's too confusing to have to adjust to that whole step difference between the trumpet and piano.
