My super man perks are “…In a single bound!”, Boundless energy, and Percussive Power Punch. He needs to dodge a lot for his combos, and his more reliable kill moves launch horizontally.

@@james.d.fowler Ive had more success with it over time. I think you have to use it very situationally, otherwise the animation will make you a sitting duck for a backstab. Using will also slow your fall speed quite a bit so you can use it as another cheese to save from falling out of ring. Also, the ability seems to definitely work better if you're coming down from above them when using it. Rather then allowing someone to simply jump over it.

Last Stand seems to be a must have perk on Superman. With his tankyness it's almost a guaranteed 10% increase in damage. And you're going to be punished constantly as superman for your slower attacks anyways.

You can change shaggy's mode from recovery to idle so it doesn't try to get back to the center of the stage

Literally got this game this morning and from the second I saw his gameplay I knew I'd love superman. A character who's whole focus is being airborne and being able to stay their for so long is awesome. I have to say I love how good air mobility is in this game overall. Compared to smashes 1 move and then free fall, getting 2 dashes, 2 specials, high jumps, cancellable fast fall and infinite attacks feels great. Flying around and lasering people is such a cool feeling. Props to the devs for making all the characters feel so true to their origins

Been maining the whole DC Trinity since Alpha, and while Bats was a learning curve and my Wondie can be inconsistent, Supes clicked from Day 1. What you said about his combo potential is very true, it feels like everything goes into eachother and I always opt to chase with something once they get whacked further, Supes has the tools to let you be really damn aggressive. But with how sluggish he can be and his main killing moves it's definitely all down to reads. Jabx2, Dair, Down, Jabx2, neutral, grounded/aerial side special is literal sex

my best tip, don't rely on strikes, you can't move if you go into the fast punches and it's quite easy to dodge if they aren't as close as you'd like them to be which gives them a chance to strike

Yeah it's what I've noticed. His punches are complete trash. They have no range and are EASILY dodged. His grabs, his ice breath, and his lader eyes are his best moves

@@kxrem.27 I get behind my teammate who's fighting them and use the ice breath. So while they're hitting him or are getting hit by him, I'm behind him just ice breathing the fuck out of them lol. I also use it on ledges when the opponents are trying to get back on the stage. Another observation I made that's not related to ice breath is that Superman's neutral punch is one of his best tools. Just hold the attack button with no direction and it sends them FLYING. The move has some really good armor too so you truly get to charge it and send them flying

I haven't been able to do this consistently yet, but you can combo an early kill with dair, neutral, side special 2x (don't charge it), and dodge into a aerial side special

The grounded up special can be canceled into another air attacks like you can read a player and they dodge into the grounded up special you can then cancel it into a Dair and continue combos

I love playing superman against a charge hungry shaggy, because they always jump up high and start charging and you can do whatever you want to them and they almost certainly die even at very low percentages.

One thing you can do is use the side special to bait out enemies by charging it up and dodge instead of releasing it to get close to your enemy and combo

a combo i found recently was side combo to down tilt to nair to down tilt to neutral tilt. The neutral tilt moves forward and even hits enemies that are slightly behind you, so it covers a lot of range for a charge attack.

In 2v2 just keep your distance in the air, control ground wit lasers and control the overall game, that's what supes about.. controlling the game and cheap easy knockouts wit ur partner. not damage. Ice is useful if two are clutched together and u have space to go back while your partner adds pressure.

My superman perks are wildcat brawler since supermans armor activates on the ground and the the perk increases ground attacks by 5% armor crush to break super armor kryptonian skin to take 4% less damage and flaming re-entry so when i do superman's kryptonian kombo while theyre in the flames they take extra damage to make it easier to knock them out

imo the side sig (special I come from brawlhalla so i call them sigs) is good and the neutral special is very bad bc it can only freeze if it gets to 15 but they can attack you while you use it so its impossible to get to 15.

Side Special is quite good when it hits, especially with the perk, however I find it very inconsistent. Sometimes the punch doesn't connect despite the crosshair being right on someone.

@@Mokarun_D the cross hair is for superman's positioning, not necessarily where the first will land. So think of it like where he will be centered, instead of where the punch will land. In other words aim slightly behibd where u wanna hit and you should find more consistency

Here's a help for suoerman if you jump and press triangle on ps4/ps5 idk for any other platform you can grab and throw while in air start a combo buy backing up while still in air let them try and recover and than grab them again that should be enough to get the kill

I found a tech to grab someone at low ground you have to dashwave + triangle but you have to grab when you are at the level of the head of the opponent. ( komyzi tech hehe)

Here's my question. Assassin characters have a lot of armor break moves. How do you fight them as superman. I've beaten them. But that's after I get combo to 50% lol.

As a person who played Mario, who’s a combo character at a high level in Smash, there was a phrase I heard tank/heavy players say: “You spawn at 50% against Mario, and you’ve just got to accept it.” So… that. You have to accept you’ll be at 50, that’s the game. I can only give you the Smash counterplay, but it’s this: You’re going to be at 50%, but don’t make it easy. Be mobile. Camp. The end goal is to force them to trade chip damage rather than allowing a combo. Against Finn as Superman, this translates to you basically never allowing him to FTilt you, at all costs, mostly be staying airborne and evasive, and then UpSmash armor through his aerial approaches once he catches on. Retreat nonstop at low percents. This is just my instinct and what the game looks like playing out in my head, though. Real life is dirtier.
