This guy is actually a very good teacher, thanks dude.
Finally! Someone who teaches the ascending harmonic minor bit in chunks. So good that you had the idea to break each section down into phrases and to teach phrase 1 then phrase 1 + 2, and so on. Nice work mate.

You are seriously the best teacher on these really difficult solos. Somehow you make the very complicated parts easy to decipher so that playing them correctly becomes simple. I've always struggled with the part when he starts to rock the crybaby but now I have it and am wondering how the hell I have been playing it so wrong for so long. This makes two of your lessons that have easily got me playing two solos I have always struggled with, this and Jungle. You're doing a great job and I appreciate your work.

So 30 years after my dad showed me Smoke on the Water as my first ever guitar lesson (and 30 years since Appetite... came out) I've decided to sit down and learn this. My fingers are now aching like a newbie - I suppose it could be the onset of arthritis, who knows? Anywho, my local adult rock group class have decided to add this to the set list, and I'm going to try to take the lead on it. Thanks to your lessons, I maybe won't completely suck. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

Hey Chris, just wanted to comment. First congrats on your baby. I'm new to watching your videos and think your great. I've had a guitar since 17 and now 52. Trying to get good like you but I stop then play and stop. What I'm saying is I'm on and off in my practice. So I've never gotten really good. I love your videos and gonna try to practice more often so I can one day be a decent player; love to get into a band and play once in a while. Keep up the good work, if you got any suggestions I would love to hear them. Keep up the great work.

this solo was giving me a headache trying to learn from tabs on the internet. I really like how you added the tabs plus had a close up of your playing. I subbed. btw watching this at 0.5 makes it even easier to learn... "hope that all makes sense" lol Also, you should at the end of the video, do a tab/with close up video of you playing the entire solo, just a suggestion rock on man!
