Some great videos, relatively new to NHL(haven't played since the 90's.) Your videos have been a great help in improving my hut team and gameplay overall, thanks!!!

ihanvarmasti It's something that you need to master. I hear a lot of players always miss and that's usually because your either desperate to get the puck or ur not aiming at the player well enough. Try and face him don't hit him unless you know you have a perfect angle to do so. Best of luck!

I'm more of a passive player on D-zone and I take care of the passing lanes because that is the majority of the goals scored on the game. Honestly I wouldn't go pressure the puck carrier even if the opponent had a "wrongly" handed player free on the slot, because most of the times it doesn't need a correct handness to score, at least I've figured that being open in the slot is enough.

I like using the defensive skill stick and clicking in the right stick when I have the chance to poke. I honestly don’t see anyone use it and it is very effective

When i try to defend, in the dZone, i always end up taking a penalty especially tripping 100 percent of the time. So i try to play the body a bit more to separate the player from the puck, can you give me some pointers

Get in position, ur getting beat too much likely on D in ur neutral or ur blue line.. Stop poke checking in bad spots and its not ur main nor best Defense. Don't poke if someone is protecting the puck or is equal to u or past u. Start learning to use Y to hold , stick lifts with A, skill stick, and definitely holding l2 more than u are so he can't cut to the net All u do vs pokers is defend the puck and skate....ur poke check, if successful once he's by you is going deeper into ur zone. Then you need Y, the skill stick and L2

Thanks for these tips. I play 3's a lot and my club excels at giving up one t's. We try our best to stay in the passing lanes but more often than not when we leave the dzone it's to head back to center. We've got to get better at the skill stick

I played Regs on a random Hut Chsmps game. I contemplated quitting within the first three seconds when I saw his gamertag but decided to play. He destroyed me 8-1 . Smothering play. It’d be cool to be a billionaire and rent an elite player for 2-3 hrs at a time to help with NHL20 training .

When im defending a 2 on 1 rush, i always try and block the passing lane, but for some reason my Dman just looks at the puck and the offensive player always gets the one timer. Can you show us how to defend against this.

Ive adapted to it, i hold R1 and get as close as possible to the open man, 9 out of 10 times it will block his shot or hit the puck

Probably every average players dream is to get a walk through from a pro as to what they're doing and focusing on. How to get out of my zone better. How to forcheck. How much and when to sauce. How to recover when burnt on breakaway. What are the best dekes to use and when. How do top guys move from backhand to forehand so fast and well. Sorry... And THANK YOU

He uses the standard strats in HUT, just changes defense to collapsing/protect net and sets all lines to behind the net. All other stuff is just as it comes.

the other settings really dont matter, offensively alot of people use behind the net or overload.. but its all situational and its all personal preference.. there isnt an end all be all recipe to win.. you just have to understand how to generate offensively and be able to understand how to stop ppl defensively

keys to success in this game with online play. score first somehow (usually some kind of luck involved), then play defense the rest of the game, oh wait and without tripping someone every 5 seconds. defense means just try to get in the way of the puck carrier somehow. should have began and ended with nhl 18, think there is a reason the full game version is $20 now. love hockey but these games suck a$$, they're pretty though

OK I'm one of the top players in the world and I don't use protect net and collapse. I think that is the worst thing you can possibly do defensively. And I'll tell you from experience that it never works well because no one is covering anyone. All your doing is covering the net and hope it doesn't go in. Sorry that's a terrible strategy. You want a strong defense to play the strong side of the puck. In other words, puck side attack is my personal favorite. But you kinda need to practice on getting that strategy working. Never and I mean ever! Collapse defense. Play tight point or staggered.
