You're not the only one. I can win 12-0 against superstar AI with an overall of 88-92, then I play online against a 85 OVR team and can't score anymore, can't pass and sometimes can't even shoot. The controls just stop to respond when I am near his players. Then I play another game and score 3 goals on 3 one timers and get a rage quit. This game is very inconsistent, but the input lag is destroying the fun I have. After 3 loses where the controls were randomly lagging and I lost because of it, I will win a game easy like 5-1... but won't feel one bit of satisfaction or fun. This lag is really ruining the fun we could have. I don't mind losing, just can't take losing because my controls refuse to be consistent, taking penalties after penalties and, getting icing because my pass went 10 fee wide or my passes in the slot going to the point for no reason and gives a breakaway. Videos like this do help though, knowing how the controls responds in certain games, I resorted to play a more basic game to minimize frustration and anger and just play to shoot and get rebounds, and maybe the once in a while deflection.

Thanks for the video. Liked the idea of creating space with horizontal movement. However the highlight to me was when you mentioned the "European style slow breakout" from own D-zone with all 5 players gaining momentum. That is a nice team sports insight there, I mean the controllled breakouts are universally designed to break the the passive defenses and especially attack more safely. Hopefully people take notes.

Is it worth tweeking with the in game sliders, my passing is way off, trying to pass across the goal and I'm hitting the top boards behind the goal or a long pass goes nowhere, I see other videos of players passing and it's spot on with speed. Is it worth turning on the pass assistant??
@brandonpatricelli1062
@brandonpatricelli1062 5 жыл бұрын
Yes tuning up pass assist will help with that. As far as sliders you can also turn your pass accuracy up a bit and see how that works. I personally don't like pass assist because it takes away from the realistic feel imo. Just a tip make sure you are aiming your joystick at the correct angle a lot of times when I first started playing I would jerk it the wrong way as I was releasing the pass
@robjay7262
@robjay7262 5 жыл бұрын
When I started out I put pass assist on and practiced with "suggestive pass" and followed the arrows until I learned where to put the joystick when I pass. Im not that good but now my passes are way sharper amd accurate. I used to get real frustrated from missing guys in the slot amd not even starting plays from poor passing

You talk about pining against the boards. Do you press Y on the xbox for that and how do you use the A button stick lift with out getting a slashing penalty. I hate it that when I break out the opponent catches you up and basically steals the Puck from under your nose.
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 5 жыл бұрын
Yes you hold the Y button down when the opposing puck carrier is near the boards. Stick lift should only be used when the view in the direction that you facing only has your opponents stick. That way, there is no way you will hit them in the face or hook them.

I have a problem with puck battles. The puck seems to go right through me. any tips?
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 5 жыл бұрын
Try the stick whack (right stick in and then push it in any direction). Ideally you want to push the right stick in the direction of where your players are, but its not a bad idea to hit it toward open ice and then chase after it. You'll likely be in a better situation than you were trying to battle for that loose puck.

I would not collect master icons for the purpose of these Master Set Player upgrades. It's not a huge upgrade and it still requires a fair bit of coin to do. However, toward the end of the year we will see the golden master icons, which will be significant upgrades and they will be much more desirable then. That's still a long time from now so I wouldn't sweat it.

i have a question: how often do you use x to "protect puck" or do you usually just use the skill stick?
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 5 жыл бұрын
I usually do use just the skill stick, however, there are times when I protect the puck. It's usually when I am along the boards and still want to be able to skate in whichever direction. If you hold your stick out you won't be able to skate anywhere. So it's a mix of the two. Otherwise if I am blazing down the ice or trying to get around a defenseman in the middle of the ice it's just the skill stick.

Lol I’m garbage at NHL. I’m like 16-22-7, so not many games online, but I use the board pin all the time on everyone who I’m chasing the puck towards the boards with. Most people just want to go for a big hit anyways so they’ll actually skate out and let you get it first so they can hit you. A quick pass as soon as you touch the puck tho will usually allow a good set up cycle and goal

I watched 2 of your videos last night after losing twice to the same 91ovr SB team on Pro with my 89ovr team(I’m fairly new to hockey- started on 18 right before 19 came out. Didn’t know any of the rules either). Today I’m playing a lot better using some of your tips on entering zone, setting up better shots(had my cam too zoomed in to see all the players), and sprinting up ice(didn’t know I had to hold R3).. I feel like a bot for all that but I managed to somehow win some online games before so I guess I’m not complete trash. Anyways, thank you!

Hey you said I could ask for help if needed 😂 I was wondering if prices for cards jump up around Christmas time or not because I was thinking of buying some cheaper 83-84 gold cards holding them and then selling them to newer players just starting out
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 5 жыл бұрын
Of course, and I wasn't lying! So cards will keep getting cheaper and cheaper because of all of the free packs that are given out every week. If you want to take this approach I would only focus on really good cards that go for near quick sell value. Like your base Kessels, Duchenes, Points. At worst, you'll get your money back. At best, you could double or triple your money. However, when doing this, I wouldn't hold onto them for that long. Buy them as you see them for a cheap price and try to sell them for more immediately. If you have a big supply and prices go up around Christmas you'll be golden.

Dont wait till Christmas. On Friday and Saturday prices goes down. Monitor prices for group of players during the week (Mon-Fri), use some tables and mark trends; buy them cheap on Saturday morning/Friday evening. A lot of players are issuing on the wrong price with the diff around 3-7k between real prices. Just be smart and use your pricing notes.

Man I don't get it... you're holding onto the puck and making passes with the opponent right on top of you. When I play, if there's someone within 5 feet of me, my player coughs up the puck or passes right into their skates. I don't know if it's just low puck possession players, but my team just WILL NOT hold on to the puck. Or pick up the puck when it's loose. That is my number 1 problem.

This game is such bs Guy shoots twice at my goalie and each time is hit off Rask and deflected in the met (tapped in) by my defence. Connection is delayed by a second from where i am and every other game works fine online Shit players i play against always win.. i would be demolishing them with 100 shots but the goalie saves EVERYTHING, all them one timers got stopped. But he takes 1 shitty shot from the blue line with Ovi and it goes straight in. Every poke check is a trip.. i can time it well but sometimes its just bollocks. The stick goes through the legs. Passing accuracy is off even though its turned all the way on 100. The player select is bs, normally gives you the closest player to the puck but it would give me a player on the opposite side of the ice. If i am killing a penalty i launch the puck sky high down their end.. every time their team would stop it before it even left my zone!? Their hand eye coordination must be fucking Godlike!! I’m not a bad player! I do win a lot of games too hence why I’m in devision 3 at the moment but soooo much bs happens in every game i play! Ive uninstalled this shite 4 times because of how much it pisses me off 😂 no other game makes me this angry!! Not even a camping twat in call of duty!!

This is dumb. Just look for the open guy in every zone. Backwards is always fine. Don’t turn it over. Duh. It’s called Good hockey... Your other options are; Get the puck deep and dig it out. OR; Be amazing and do something insane to witness. Always take what’s available, and defense first. Everybody’s highlight reel makes em’ look like a genius... Hence; “Highlight Reels”
