Great Great Video, such a fan of Neil, of the movie, and of this song particularly... You showed me what I couldn't found out by myself: Neil's specific way of playing... If one day you want to teach us Needle of Death the Neil's way, it would really mean something to me. Keep on playing...

There's no shortage of lessons on this song, but they all make it more complicated than it really is. Thanks for simply explaining it without explaining how many foot pounds of pressure you need to hammer the E-string.

Hmm 2 acoustics now, a Martin D41 and a Taylor GA-3 12. 4 electrics - Les Paul, Strat, Collings 290, and an EVH Wolfgang. The guitar in this vid WAS a D18 that I traded in with my HD28 for the D41. So it goes.

your a good guitar player, I like your guitars, I like your neil 13 songs in 6 min. I think that is what it is, the acoustic one, I love the sound of that guitar, and what ever you used to record the sound of the guitar. But I believe this song sounds better with a pick, even tho you strummed it very well, the old timers like neil and anyone older, learned how to strum very good cause back in the old days music stores were not as easy to find like they are today, and buying a pick was not as easy. Today you walk into a music store and there are hundred of picks to chose from. So the old timers if they wanted to play there guitars it was learn to strum with your fingers are not play at all. And neil is very good at strumming with just his hand, sometimes you cant even tell the difference

Hey, awesome lesson, but can you explain what you´re doing around 9:16 with that chord? its an A? and you just use one finger? cant see it with this quality.. thanks!
@TainFurrious16 жыл бұрын
It's a way to play an A chord in a barre fashion. It's not necessary to play it that way, just play an A chord how you'd normally do it

If the first and fourth chords of the beginning verse are almost the same, why call one Bm and the other F#? Seems to me the only difference is a different root note and high note. Sorry for the dumb question but I learned guitar by ear and then tabs/chords so an not too great with theory. I did figure this song out by ear and that was a lot of fun.
@GainasBuzz8 жыл бұрын
I am an intermediate player, correct me if I am wrong. If the root note is different, its a different chord. One is Bm and the other F#. Its as simple as that. Look up the shapes.

You just need to palm the upper two strings with your right hand. Listen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJqQhGyip9N_kJo That prevents the bass strings from ringing out of control and hitting the fret when the string is open.
