So I’ve been playing the Dholki since I was 5, yes 5 years old, I’m now 43, and that is NOT how you play it. Also, there is a huge difference between the Dhol and a Dholki. The Dhol is played with sticks and goes around your neck. The Dholki, which you had a very untuned version of, is generally played on the floor or in your lap. As someone else commented, your Dholki is severely out of tune. It needs tuning a LOT. The large side should have a ‘Dum’ sound and the smaller side should have a ‘ting’ sound. And the beat, confusing as it maybe, sounds like… Dum dum, ting ting dum ting dum ting, ting ting Dum ting dum ting, ting ting Happy to make you a video and show you the correct way to play it if needed!
