I have literally followed you since I became inspired to play guitar. This was while I was living in Mexico learning Spanish in 2010. You have been inspiration for me for almost 10 years now. Your English is better than it was then too! It was good then, but it's even better now. Just something I noticed. My Spanish has gotten worse but I still try to practice! Haha

im a left handed player ive got a fender stratocaster sadly i tore 3 of my tendons in my left hand my strumming hand in an accident 7 years ago.i can nearly play lead like i used to but i have to keep stretching my tendons every time i play.its the rhythm guitar im struggling with big time & switching from playing single notes to playing one note repeatedly.i cant get up to 200 lol but im strumming it wrong im flicking out with my second & ring finger then strumming up & down with my thumb.normally i would just play it fast up & down sliding in to a chord.its the first time ive tried strumming it like this.i normally just play lead with my first finger using my finger nail.ive never used my thumb it sits behind my first finger when i strum chords & ive never grown my thumb nail before.i nearly sound like you at a slower speed but at 200 i cant keep up.im trying this with pink super slinky custom gauge strings.i really like your playing though you have got fast hands.& your tight.one guitarist i love is richie havens he plays fast tight chords like you do.the something else again lp has some blinding songs the klan gets me big time.im a music collector ive been covering the small independent labels during the 50s 60,s & early 70s for nearly 30 years.ive got thousands of rare gems on my created playlists & i invite you & any true music lover to check me out you will be amazed by many of these bands ive searched hard for new old discovery,s with originality & talent.ill tell you another song with some great flamenco guitar at the intro its by a band called the rotary connection the song is called i am the black gold of the sun the lp is called songs.check me out & your hear thousands of rare gems you never knew existed & im adding to them each month.im also subscribed to hundreds of great collectors with ultra rare record collections.your never meet someone like me i know what the natural high & that is what playing guitar is all about for me ive played some great stuff but i havnt taped it.i never play the same thing twice im always trying new things but im not technically sound i just experiment hit some bum notes & then work out what notes i can use.this injury has set me back a lot but i refuse to give up i know in my heart ive still got originality & talent.i can get the notes in between the notes by dampening strings & i use 3 note bends a lot like hendrix lol.but ive really enjoyed watching you play so thank you i just subscribed & ill be checking out your other uploads,have a nice weekend kind regards jamie aka dj big leg one of the finest dj,s on you tube & on a good day i can play guitar unlike no one.ive been jamming with another left handed bass player i know from school we both love old analogue records i own no cd,s & no digital vinyl.basically im analogue till i die i cant change that cause i know what is lost sonically.digital tech is sonically inferior its called superior only by businessmen & musicians that are tone deaf lol.they make more money from cd,s & digital downloads.so to protect the mass profit the major labels have pointlessly started to make vinyl a carbon copy of the inferior cd format.so i wont buy new vinyl reissues any more im basically trying to get some recording equipment together so i can tape our jam,s in the future.ive learnt by ear but i need to learn more chords & scales i want to learn arabic scales greek turkish israeli basically all the eastern scales & i like the blues.checkout skip james one of the best finger picking bluesmen ive heard.also fred mcdowell one of the best blues acoustic slide guitarists ive heard.but i really like the fast strumming used by flamenco guitarists it makes it so much more diverse & complete...

Your book Spanish Guitar Strumming is very helpful, but I am stuck at chapters 10-12. The triplets are getting better, but I still struggle. I find that it is easier if I relax the muscles in my right arm and hand BUT then the triplets sound sloppy. Any tips?
@TheSpanishGuitarHub5 жыл бұрын
Practice a lot in slow speed. I actually will have a new release soon that might help you. And try to do it on a way that you put as less effort as possible
@JochenBrand11065 жыл бұрын
@@TheSpanishGuitarHub Thanks a lot. It is nice to be in contact with the artist, I feel honored ;-) I find out this afternoon that for speed and rhythm, turning my wrist is more important than the downstroke of the middle and ring fingers. I think I focused to much on that. Good luck with your new book.
