I really like how fast this game seems to play. Although I think it's also in part due to the skill of Tom as a game master, I think the way the actions work (including the auto-hitting) lends itself to faster turns. Oddly enough, with all actions being mostly tied to specific moves rather than simply "attack", it may leave less room for players to add their own "cinematic" descriptions, since they might just read the ones already there.

Thank you! I have been thinking about the "cinematic" aspects. I have observed that most in players, rather than games. I see it most often when players are immersed in the game, ready to act on their turn, act decisively, and are comfortable enough with the rules to describe their actions in the verisimilitude of the game world while pulling in the proper resoultion mechanics rather than trying to find the resolution names and mechanics to describe their actions.

@@d20play I've noticed that too, even with myself. Once I felt comfortable with the mechanics, I started describing my actions in more detail. Maybe something similar can still happen with this game after months of play 🤷🏾‍♂️

Just started dabbling in VTT with the intent of using it for MCDM play tests. I had no idea you could build so much manually into Roll20! Very cool.

I do! While not specifically for MCDM, you can do most any game. A search for "Roll20 Tips" in my youtube channel will find some guides on how I do things.

Dumb question : how do you get the playtest docs ? I have pledged the game on Backerkit but haven’t got any news or update regarding a playtest. Need to be patreon of MCDM or something ?

Correct, you need to be a patreon for this set. I don't know how future sets will go.

Matt has said that the backerkit is just for the finished product. Patreon is where you go for consistant updates and playtests

Backers will get playtest material sometime in q2 i think. The early playtest is for patrons
