How to play The One by Elton John

This was like the 6th or 7th song I learned to play by ear way back when. Those single note tones were pretty easy find on the keyboard for me. Once you find the chords, which aren't many, you can quickly get the entire song down pat! I love playing the ending of the song!

Yeah this song just has a great feel and sound. This is one of those where his progressions just make the whole thing work.

One of my favourite lesser known Elton songs superb as usual!, can I ask Chris, on your other videos the top down shot of your keyboard, what stand/setup do you use to get that?

Hi Matthew, that's one of the reasons I don't do more recorded videos like that right now. I just use my iPhone on a mount that I built and I also use it to record my voice via lapel mic. It's okay for sure but I have to set it up everytime I want to do a video, It's definitely better to have a dedicated camera just for the overhead you never have to move. Hope that helps!

​@chrisbarkerpiano Thanks for replying,the last video I uploaded I had similar issues took me ages to get the camera in position and trying to get it pointing down straight and I had to tape it into position, so doing that each time is a pain 😂

Wow! That is better than Elton plays it? How long have you been playing? I have a friend in Charlotte by Lake Norman who plays it like that!
