Well he changed the key once by 3 semitones (Ab to F) and it was post surgery, he never was able to hit high nites easily so lowering the key was his best option

I don't believe he would change the key for ease of playing. I would guess he transposed the piano, to sing in a lower key, while still playing the same key on the piano.

@@jamesbannon2328 Elton is so talented, he doesn’t need a transposer, there are a few videos where you can see he’s playing in a different key

I just looked that up and you are correct, great performance! I could have some issues on the video side of it because of the tv show, I may have to do just the jam section but I'll figure out a way to make it work.

That's a great idea, I really enjoyed doing that because it showed a totally different side of Elton's playing. There will definitely be more of those to come and these are two great suggestions.

Hi Dori, He is one of the most humble and kind men I have ever met. You know how the old saying goes adage goes about not meeting your heroes. In this case it is the total opposite, I have just as much respect for him personally as I do as a musician.

Hi Matthew, that's one of the reasons I don't do more recorded videos like that right now. I just use my iPhone on a mount that I built and I also use it to record my voice via lapel mic. It's okay for sure but I have to set it up everytime I want to do a video, It's definitely better to have a dedicated camera just for the overhead you never have to move. Hope that helps!

​@chrisbarkerpiano Thanks for replying,the last video I uploaded I had similar issues took me ages to get the camera in position and trying to get it pointing down straight and I had to tape it into position, so doing that each time is a pain 😂

So the midi file in the description will allow you to print out sheet music from the file but it will need to be arranged due to the fact that this is a live performance and isn't recorded to the grid. I'm probably going to do a quick video explaining this for those who are curious about this.
