Your tabs for position 1 at the 12th fret show “12-14” for the B string, but you say (correctly) 12-15. I’m sure you did that just to see if anyone was paying attention!

One question I have is why the heck didn't the guy that invented guitar music not just go A B C D E F to name the strings? Guitar learning would be infinitely simpler. I've played guitar for almost 10 years and I still don't have the string names memorized.

Not at all, my guitar is set more like an electric. It just means you might have to adjust the way you play certain songs or pieces.
