I was a typical teen in the 60's. We were all into the 'gunsligers' Lee, Page, Winters but I was lucky enough to have a couple friends that were jazz guitarists. I was trying to understand what Joe was telling me about the importance of quiet spaces or empty space in a painting. He was getting a bit frustrated with his dolt of a friend. Finally he said 'really get into B. B. King's stuff' and you'll understand. He was absolutely right and I learned so much more about music and loved it all the more from doing that (and got to see 'The Man' himself a couple times). RIP B.B. and thank you.

I’m trying to mix licks in while playing the chords and singing. I can do that a little, but would love to learn more licks that i could fit in. To me, this is my goal on many tunes (sing plus rhythm plus riffs-just me and a guitar-no looper or anything).

could you use the same shape/ voice for f#7 for g major 7 instead of the one u use?
@alanhowell36463 жыл бұрын
No, the F#7 is a dominant 7 chord, the G major 7 is exactly what it says, a G major 7 chord. The difference being the 7th in a dominant chord is flattened a semitone, in a major 7th it’s not flattened so the fingering is not the same

Anyone know what shaped that G7 is from the CAGED system?
@bruce3387 жыл бұрын
It is the C form from the caged with the root on the B string lifted to make it a half tone lower or a major 7th.
@alanhowell36465 жыл бұрын
It’s a G Major7 not a G7 which is a dominant chord. It has a major 7th which is F# rather than F natural in G7. It comes from a C maj7 chord shape in the caged system

@terryClg6 жыл бұрын
Nope. Am is Claptons version, original is in key Bm. Learn by Nashville system and you can change to any key instantly. I ii iii IV V Vi Vii and the key the band played is usually dictated by the voice range of the lead singer
