Randall .. my Brudda' .. just seek out a good Guitar Repairman(most music stores have someone they can refer you to,) when you have his info, just head in to that shop and tell the Guitar Tech that you want him to "give it a Good Set-Up"(which will include a new set of strings[ask for a "Light Guage String Set]) and just tell him you want the action to be nice and low so that you can finger the chords easier. I've been playing for 52 years and I still have my guitar tech change my strings the ladder gauges from time to time .. it's personal preference my Brudda' .. you'll feel the world of difference and you'll be inspired to practice more.

playing it as one guitar, is hard. i am 67 years old and been playing for 40 years. if you add 3rds to the lead part, it is even harder.

Heard this on the radio on the way home from the gym today. Had to KZbin a guitar tutorial for it. Great job. I love it when as song is somewhat simple when you break it down...but sounds so complicated when you put it all together.

BUT, to make it a "major", you really should include an "F#" in the chord; you are simply playing a "G"
@Deadlibrarybook4 жыл бұрын
@@Mark09ish1 I did add the F# on the high E string - look above at the chord fingering.

Hi Doug. I love your version of this song. Can you tell me how exactly your Gm7 is played. I can't tell on the vid and Google is helping much either. Thanks!

from the low string to the high it's - 2x0031 (fingers) 2x0032 (frets)

@@dougedgell hi doug, great vid! just to comment on beverlysmith "i can't tell from video": i have always thought that you (oh so helpful!) youtube instructors should position your cameras (and this might not be feasible) at the exact spot where the players eyes are looking at the fret board. iows, above the fret board, looking down at the fret hand - at the same angle where your eyes view the neck. if not this, i suggest that you instructors think about your video from a tech perspective: what does the viewer most need to view? your blu jeans? your shirt? your face? no, they need most to see the fret hand and/or the rythym hand. it's not that you or others are not pleasant to look at, but if the goal is to teach, it might behove you to - sure, show and introduce yourself in the intro or other parts - put for the bulk of lesson positon camera either directly in front of the fret or rythym hands (whichever hand you are spotlighting) i've only seen one lesson with camera position mimicking an eyeball view of the player: above fret board and looking down. it was fascinating and so comfortable to watch without having to "transpose" in your brain the straight on view that most lessons show into the actual view that you see. know what i mean? thanks for posting :)

I don't get that G major 7 at all I got to look that up it sounds right but it don't look right
@jodyguilbeaux82252 жыл бұрын
e minor 7 can be substituted for G major7 , one for the other, it doesnt matter. e minor is a minor dominant 7th............ and G MAJOR 7TH is a natural or MAJOR 7TH OF THE SUB DOMINANT in the key of D MAJOR . EASILY EXPLAINED= 1 = d major 7th............4= g major 7th ......................5= A7 g major 7th = G , a, b, C, D, e= e minor 7th or the 1 and the vi can be substituted for one or the other.
@KingofRoath5 жыл бұрын
That's because it's meant to be G6 (355400). I think!
