I have detuned my guitar by 1 fret for the vocal; place a capo on the first fret in standard tuning to play in the original key. Great Alan, I have been a fan for so long of your channel, planned to play this song for my father when he turned 64, but he recently sadly passed at 61. I will play it anyways at his 64th birthday.

Sorry, Alan, for the stupid question. But does “detune by one fret” mean the e becomes f sharp? Full f?

Hi mate, the Es become Eb, B to Bb, G to F#, D to C#, and A to G#. I use a chromatic tuner to tune the strings down. All the best - Alan 😊
