I absolutely do not understand the controversy of this album. The tracks are super. No reply. I'm a loser. 8 days a week. Baby's in black. The best version of Rock and Roll music ever recorded. Scorching. A concert favorite. Words of Love. I mean, those are all winners. What am I missing? Let me see. Oh...I don't want to spoil the party. Every little thing. I mean, as concerns ringo's songs, I think Honey dont is just the best. ( I do not care if some are covers. Means nothing to me. )

I agree. I think the songwriting, engineering and production on here represent a considerable step - or several considerable steps - from A Hard Day’s Night. The covers are well done and I have never understood the complaints about Mr Moonlight. It’s another excellent Lennon vocal on a cover and it extended the band’s stylistic territory. It’s true that the number of covers is indicative of fatigue and a lack of time but we can also consider the brilliant single that was recorded at the same time. For their fourth album in a year and two thirds, it’s impressive.

My friend can relate to Pauls 7 levels, he had to write an essay for English degree and couldn't think if a thing to write. After saying this to beatnick friend he suggested he try this, a little LSD. It worked words flew off the pen, he said he thought he'd written the greatest essay ever. And went to bed thinking that, woke up thinking that, handled it in thinking that. Next day his tutor at the lecture simply said "Mark, I want you to come up and read your essay to the whole class"! He genuinely went up there thinking, this man can spot genius went he sees it. He read out the first two words and said "Ah"! Its was three pages of complete and total twaddle, not one coherent sentence. His tutor knew what happened, but to this day he still remembers that feeling of genius

The feedback intro for I Feel Fine actually occurred during the recording of Eight Days A Week. The harmonic note of the feedback is in the key of A. As it so happened the original key of I Feel Fine was recorded in the key of A but John had difficulty singing it. So the key was dropped a whole step to G. This made the opening guitar lick a D major chord. Thus making the feedback note of A the perfect 5th note to Johns opening D chord. Such was the charmed life of the Beatles in the Autumn of 1964. In 1959, Ray Charles had a huge hit with his song, 'What'd I Say, driven by Milt Turners unorthodox tom tom drum pattern. The song was the "go to song" for the young Beatles during their 5 grueling stints over 3 years in Hamburg Germany. The song is important in Beatles lore because drummer Pete Best hadn't mastered the tom tom drum beat. On those nights in Hamburg when Pete was ill, Ringo Starr would fill in. Ringo had mastered the beat and the other 4 Beatles took notice. Pete was fired before the Beatles final stint in Hamburg in Dec 1962. That unorthodox tom tom beat is what Ringo plays on the verses of I Feel Fine. RNB

George had some pretty uninspiring solos on I'll Follow the Sun, Mr. Moonlight and glaringly on Leave My Kitten Alone. John and particularly Paul took notice. When the Beatles returned to EMI to record Ticket to Ride, it was Paul on lead guitar. From here forth, George would be sharing the role of "Lead" guitarist within the Beatles. Happy New Year, RNB

I have only recently found so many videos detailing the Beatles touring and recording schedule. Their story is incredibly fascinating and captures my attention to the end regardless of who narrates or created the content. They had that magic quality from the beginning. There seems to be something of interest for the casual pop culture fan as well as for the more technically minded with the studio recoding process being most fascinating to me. I've always suspected Baby's In Black may have been about Astrid Kircherr and Stuart Sutcliffe. I had a hunch that John might've also been in love with her, even though she preferred Stuart ( she seemed like John's type - arty, and intellectual ) Of course, Stuart died of a brain hemorrhage, and Astrid spent virtually the rest of her life in mourning. It was even suggested in the highly controversial Albert Goldman biography that John caused Stuart's death, ( John was prone to very violent outbursts at the time ) and that John had a guilt complex about it for the rest of his life. We'll probably never know the whole truth, but John, Astrid and Stuart did have a very complicated relationship. The style of the song suggests the main inspiration came from John, and may even have been started first in Hamburg. The fact that they were pushed for material on this album lends credence to the idea.

Beatles For Sale is a great album. There's a lot of great songs on there. I don't know why people want to refer to it as a lesser effort album. I grew up loving the album, or should I say the American counterpart, when I was a child. I mean, one album would have to rank somewhere along the bottom out of all their albums, but most people would choose the original Yellow Submarine album as being at the bottom of the list.

Thank you, thank you. This album has always been one my favorites, I love it. I have commented over the years that this album was a postcard sent from them that they were moving on. Even given their work ethic, its mindblowing that they were able to even record tracks for this album from all of the chaos. I was there from the start, when they hit it was a musical tsunami / pop culture wave. From popular comedy shows such as The Munsters to many others they would have some band drop in and play their music... It was a riot. And of course the second British invasion burst with many other bands and British TV shows such as The Avengers, and of course the 007 / James Bond movies.

What You're Doing is I believe the only song I can say I have a memory of hearing for the first time, most all the others just seemed to be floating around my head from my very early childhood days growing up in a Beatle fan household. But the one American album we didn't own until I was about 10 years old was Beatles VI, and I have the specific memory of hearing the lines "Look what you're doing. I'm feeling blue and...." and for a split second I thought to myself, "is he actually going to rhyme "Doin' " with "Blue in"? But then I heard the full line (blue and lonely) and it made sense.

Another great video. I always say only the Beatles can have a "worst" album with fantastic songs like No Reply, I'm a Loser, Baby's in Black, and for the single I Feel Fine inventing feedback on records. In contrast, the Stones were still essentially a cover band at this point in time, with their top songs of the period being It's All Over Now, Little Red Rooster, and Time is on My Side.
@yes_head3 сағат бұрын
Good job. I agree that the touring schedule -- right on the heels of making 'A Hard Day's Night' -- simply left no time for writing new material, hence the return to the covers cabinet to fill out the grooves. In some ways that wasn't such a bad thing, since we all know now that they could have recorded another *two albums* worth of covers if they wanted to, and as we also know sometimes a Beatles cover can become the definitive version of a song. But 'A Hard Day's Night' had created the precedent of NO MORE COVERS, so to have to resort to using them again on BFS must have stung a bit. Plus the choice of covers was sometimes... regrettable. I often think this is the first album where John decided "F-it -- you take what I give you and be happy." The introduction to pot and Bob Dylan certainly kick started their collective move toward independence, and from the constraints of always fitting into the 'lovable mop-tops' image. John certainly became more acerbic, which IMO helped his songwriting. Although it wouldn't be until the next album that the fruits of these changes would really show.

That said, you are allowed to play the song for that purpose, correct? However your quandary is that you also wish to make a monetary gain on the views, correct? Well how about you simply make a parallel video with all of the music tracks in their correct spots, then simply put a link below the documentary labeled " THE MUSIC TRACK" - PLAY SIMULTANIOUSLY WITH TODAYS VIDEO. IT WILL MAKE A COUNTDOWN SO YOU CAN BEGIN THE VIDEO AT THE APPROPRIATE SPOT. In the event there is an interruption on either video, the Music Track video has the counter of the main video on the screen.
