Nice lesson Jon! I’ve been searching for a folk type song to sing. This could be it. You’ve got some techniques I need to work more on like breaking up that strum and the walking base note which I’ve only used once before. Good stuff here!

Yes breaking up the strum is an essential technique. This would be great for you to work on especially since you have an awesome voice. You could really come up with some cool accompaniment patterns and get a really full sound just playing by yourself. Keep it up!

Great Lesson Jon! I think the important thing in this song is the right hand strumming pattern.

I like using 4 fingers on the open C and open G. Adding the G in the base on the C chord and adding the D on the G chord. It sounds fuller to me? Thank you for the video.

Since you have been here recently, thought I would ask you this question. Without words, tabs or chords how do you go about learning these? THANKS.

@@345kobi I don't really understand your question? How does one learn anything without words? What are these? I never use tab. Chords are built out of their respective major scales. If you know how to construct a major scales then you can figure out the notes in any chord.
