It's SO true! During COVID, it is SO hard to socialize your children in anyway, whether it be with other adults or children. We filmed this in July when we were also in the thick of it. I'm not sure what your area looks like, but if you happen to see anyone at all, any family, any park play dates, do your best to make it a social experience with your child. You might even set your baby down in the grass and sit a little ways away from her at a park where there are other people around, smiling at your baby and encouraging them to feel safe while they are at a distance from you, while still in the presence of other people. If you have a few trusted friends or family members that you can be confident in the way they are protecting themselves and interacting with others, you could focus your interactions with those people. Either way, it's tricky! Sending your hugs! 🥰

Single mom again. & At 41 now. I hate leaving my munchkin for work. I forever have an image of her tiny self in her stroller, giving me a grumpy look, w/ her little hair blowing in the breeze off in the distance. & I swear she's always whining,"y u always gotta leave me 😭." Her sounds start to sound way repetitive... :/ Kind of sounds like her dad. Only, she's permanent

My babys sofistakated. She listens to baby mozart 🥰. That baby sounds like shes singing to clap ur hands. I gotta play clap ur hands more often. I mean, the physical activity. Not just the song. I hear it on cocomelon sometimes. I play that so much for her somexs i got baby songs stuck in my head. I know it triggers menories out of her too bc when i sing em out of the blue she smiles. That cartoon makes me giggle a little on the inside somexs. Itll be running in the background like annie needs to go to sleep... like yes! Mommy does indeed need her z's in. Also, its reverse for her. She doesnt use her arms to crawl. Shes got the leg part down tho. Shes getting there

Very helpful thank you but I do have one question how long should we do each of these exercises mild stones for ?? An how many should we do a day ??
@CarnahanFam4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! At this age, these little babies don't have much of a stamina to have long stretches of practice so the amount of time we practice one activity is very short. Absolutely less than 10 minutes but sometimes it can be as short as 2! It really depends on baby's tolerance! What will be more helpful is consistent practice over time! The more baby gets to practice the skill over multiple settings, the better they will be able to obtain the skills! And as far as how many you should do a day, it is really whatever your baby's stamina can handle and how much time you have to be one-on-one working with baby. The nice thing is, so many of these activities can be done integrated in daily activities that you are already doing! I say, as long as you review these skills, maybe even make a list of them and keep them in mind throughout the day when playing with baby, I'm sure you'll hit more of them than you'd think! Sounds like you are doing a great job Mama! ❤️

You’re not worried about her choking on any of those foods? They seemed fairly large… as a novice in swallowing solids, I feel like that for sure could be a recipe for a choking hazard
@jasminroler97608 ай бұрын
Actually when You introduce your baby to solids in different textures early the risk of chocking is pretty low. When my Baby was 4 Months old we started solids and she does so well now shes 7 months old and can even eat rice cakes. They just figure out a way to eat different textures. This practice is called BLW btw.

Where I am from we give strawberries, pine nuts and honey around the second year. I see that you gave her at 7 months. Is this normal practice for your region?
@ioanarosca6985 Жыл бұрын
At least in Germany and Romania, honey is not recomended until 1 year and whole nuts not until 3 years. But you can give strawberries and grounded nuts in adequate form from 6 month.

@poechristhemfitz Жыл бұрын
Do babies who crawl and pull up to stand early also walk early? Or do they just have a prolonged crawling phase? My 7-month-old daughter started crawling just before she turned six months old and has been pulling up to stand for about a month now. She seems so ready and eager to run around with her big brother and I have to use every ounce of self-control to not walk her around by her hands...... and we also have to constantly tell everybody else not to do it...

As the father of a kid that developed very quickly and one that has a syndrome hence developed very slow, I should point out how I hate the phrase “your baby should able to…”. No babies should be doing the same thing and the exact age. All have their own pace. Some kids will actually never be able to walk, so no, not all babies “should” be doing that. I know you are no professionals but two parents uploading with good intentions. Then again, I think you should pay more attention to the phrases in order to avoid anxiety among the parents whose children are not typically developing.

Yes, this one is such a toughy right now. A few suggestions: 1. If you see anyone outside of your household AT ALL, close family member or friend, use that as an opportunity to socialize baby! Encourage baby to sit on another's lap and have you as a security blanket right there next to her. Sing songs together that she enjoys and make it a positive experience. 2. Go on safe socially distanced walks around the neighborhood or a place with few people but still people around. Wave to them as they pass with baby and show baby that it is a pleasant experience to see other people. 3. Have a socially distanced mommy & me with a friend or two with babies around your child's age. Set out blankets in the grass if weather permits or well spread out in a living room and place baby in front of you with some toys on your blanket. As you socialize with other moms, encourage baby to notice the other people around her. Facing outward and NOT on your lap so she can see the other people and you are to her back is most helpful. 4. FaceTime or video chat with others who are enjoyable for a baby to talk to. Someone who will look at the screen, make big facial expressions and clap and smile with baby. Sing songs, play peek-a-boo, say their name often - make it positive! Our little girl in this video is now 15 months old and still had extreme social anxiety due to the lack of socialization because of the pandemic until she was about 13 months old. Then suddenly one day she would smile at visitors even walk to grandparents which before had been unthinkable. It is so hard for these little ones in these early stages of development during a pandemic. Be patient with them and it will pass. Just be mindful of how you can provide an opportunity to show baby that people can be safe, pleasant and enjoyable to be around (even without Mom there 😉)! Sending you good vibes and lots of air hugs! ❤️

Is this really a development for a 7 month old and not an 8 month old?
@CarnahanFam4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Great question! These activities are perfect for your 7 month old but at the same time, especially when they are this young, babies develop within a healthy range and many of these skills may show up a little sooner, or even a little bit later! As long as you are within a few months, the development will be very appropriate for your baby! And this goes for our entire developmental series! I hope that answers your question! 😄
