how do they know where to punch the holes when creating dizi? i like to make one from pvc

It has some rules，the holes gap and size and tube inner diameters must take into consideration . This is not very easy .

Zoom Pham cháu chào Bác. Cháu dùng tay phải để chặn các lỗ gần và dùng tay trái cho các lỗ xa. Cháu thấy cây tiêu của Bác được thiết kế ngược lại. Hoặc nói chính xác thì cháu làm ngược. Cho cháu hỏi: cháu muốn tìm mua cây tiêu thuận với cách cầm tay của Cháu thì cháu sẽ phải tìm ở đâu ạ? Cháu xin cảm ơn Bác trai.

Getting a sound from the xiao is not a problem for me. The problem is that fingering any holes begins to make the sound go away. After a few holes, the sound goes away. It's like a clogged trumpet. I assume I am doing something wrong, since I have tried this scores of times over the past few months. Can anyone help? Thank you : )

I play all sorts of flutes including Xiao and it's nearly always incomplete hole coverage that makes "the sound go away". Try adding your fingers gradually one at a time from top to bottom and note where the sound begins to "go away" . . . then adjust that finger where the sound begins to disappear.

I think you should learn how to put the finger on correctly , and keep your blowing steady output . do some practice then it can be solved .
