Never played Yomi before but man this looks great. I dismissed Puzzle Strike 2 because of the art but this is a day 1 one for me. Looks very very cool

If you can ever manage to get past the art, Puzzle Strike 2 is actually really fun, and if you can't, then Puzzle Strike 1 is basically a certified hood classic of a deck builder (even if it can be a little intimidating at first). And glad you dig Yomi 2, obviously! :D

+1 to giving Puzzle Strike 2 a shot despite the art. I happen to like it, but more importantly it's a really unique, intricate deckbuilder with absolutely crazy comebacks being the typical experience. It really does capture the feel of Puzzle Fighter. But yeah, Yomi 2 is an equally accomplished entry in the 1v1 fighting card game genre. Very distinct and flavorful mechanics for the various characters.

What do you mean "despite the art", PS2 looks great! Or are you the kind of person that wouldn't play Wind Waker because it's too "childish"?

@ I am the kind of guy that wouldn’t want to explain to my play group that the have to hold a princess wand while playing the game. So?

I played the original yomi and loved how it used a 52 card deck with jokers for each character, yet each deck still felt and played differently. I now have a total of 16 decks for it and it is a huge hit in my club. This feels like a more modern fighter, but also a little more complex. I like it... but I really need a playthroufh to warrant dropping 250 bucks for everything. But if it earns that 250...

Codex Card Time Strategy backer here. It's kind of strange that the all in pledge does not contain the box needed to store all the game. In codex, you could buy the deluxe version but it came with the deluxe version box which stored all of the game pieces. Doing the all in pledge means you'll get all of the separate boxes, but if you want to buy the large storage box, what are you gonna do with the original boxes? Throw them away. There should be an option to not have those boxes and have the all in pledge in just the storage box. In fact, it shouldn't even be an option. The all in pledge should not contain the separate boxes, it should come with the storage box, just like Deluxe Codex. Game looks great aside from that nitpick. I'm a fan of sirlin products. They are always good quality, the gameplay is always great. I play codex regularly with a friend and have for several years. We play puzzle strike too. Yomi 2 looks like another great game.

The reason is to be more friendly to you, the consumer. The tier you're referring to is the "Gameplay All-In" tier, and it's exactly what it sounds like. If you want all the gameplay, that has all of it. Replacing it with a more expensive tier that has the add-ons of the Storage Box and 9 packs of sleeves would not be better imo. The point is to have a tier for people who care about getting all characters + gems + solo / co-op stuff. Some people have asked for extras beyond gameplay like Storage Box + sleeves, but those are just add-ons rather than baked into "Gameplay" all-in. It's impractical and financially infeasible to print thousands of copies of each of the main products AND then print thousands more of all those same products, but inside the storage box. Instead, the storage box is as add-on for those who want it.

hello ! can we expect a solo or coop vidéo before the campaign end ?
@SirlinPrime22 күн бұрын
Near the end of the campaign there will be a design video about the solo / co-op mode. Not quite like this one but will give more info on how it works.

If I sleeve these cards will they still fit in the boxes?
@SirlinPrime19 күн бұрын
Yes, all the deck boxes are designed to hold sleeves. The Gamefound campaign has high quality sleeves with a Yomi-themed design (but no Yomi logo so you can use them for any game). Partnered with UltraPro, similar to their Eclipse line. You can use any standard sized sleeves though.

this is so much better than the yomi2 digital tutorial. Well done.

Surprising to hear. We put a lot of effort into making the Yomi 2 digital tutorial really great. Rather than a wall of text that constantly stops you and holds your hand, as much of it as possible is letting you play, while advising you of what's going on. Sorry that didn't work for you and glad you like the video.

How is this better than Yomi 1? Looks very similar.
@SirlinPrime19 күн бұрын
There's so many differences that I'm not sure where to start. (It's a completely new game, not just a new edition of the old game.) There's only one move on each card rather than two moves with upside down text. There are high and low attacks and high and low blocks. There are projectiles as a class of moves that really do something. There's a super meter you build up. The "exchange" feature is a major thing that lets you control what's in your hand in a way that didn't exist before. There are gems to adjust how your character works. The game is now asynchronous friendly, so you can get through your turn very quickly without passing priority back and forth several times. The deck composition is much different than before. All shuffling has been removed from the game except once before you start, and sometimes one more time during the game, but never more than that, which helps play go faster. There's a pretty built-out single player and co-op mode. There's more than that going on, that's just a few things off the top of my head. This video by a Yomi 2 player covers some of this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXLYm62MbJJmiM0si=SChOT5J76SJaauRc
