Hi there! I'm just about to buy a 1 group espresso machine (most probably a LM Gs3 or Linea Mini). I plan on doing events, markets, etc. therefore using a 4 gallon water jug as water source. Would there be any problem at all using BWT filter with that kind of setup? Thanks for your answer.

Can I plumb in a rocket apartamento black? If not what's the best solution as I've got extremely hard water. At the moment making RO water and then remineralizing which is a faff and wastes lots of water.
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the Rocket Appartamento cannot be plumbed in. If your water is very hard (20 grains per gallon or higher) then I wouldn't recommend a BWT type filter anyways as it will get used up very quickly and become expensive. Really the only solution is what you are doing.

The last connection using John Guest with 8 connections seems very error prone to leaking.

When setting up the flow meter, it says to change to US Gallons which I did. Then in the manual I had to convert the liters for the S filter into Gallons based on my water hardness and bypass value. Is there any reason why I can't stay on liters in the US. I am assuming the flow meter will calculate either liters or gallons based on the water that passes through right?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't see any reason why you can't leave it in litres. You shouldn't have any issues

There seems to be a growing sense that a rotary pump is overkill for any sort of prosumer machine. Any thoughts on that for someone making 10-15 espresso shots and maybe 3 milk based drinks per day?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada3 жыл бұрын
A rotary pump generally costs about $300-$500 (CAD) more than a vibration pump for the same machine. The main value that you get is the ability to plumb the machine in, a rotary pump is significantly quieter than a vibration and better longevity. The failure rate on rotary pumps is lower than vibe pumps, much lower. You have to decide if this is worth while. But it sounds like you are making 15 or more drinks a day, that's a decent amount, normally I would recommend a rotary for this type of use.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada thanks folks, I’m pretty sure I will go rotary but wanted your unbiased opinion. Thanks!!

Would you suggest adding a water filter/softener that my system? If so, please provide a link • I have a water-tank Breville Oracle • I see minerals building up in water fill area • double filter to a water tap in a nearby sink • there is small water softener in the Oracle’s water tank

Having this filter remove the needs to descale the espresso machine? Is there any way i can add this filter to an existing RO system?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
Hi, if you have an RO system you do not need to descale and you do not require additional filtration. This filter uses an ion exchange to soften the water, it's just another method of achieving the same result. Reverse Osmosis also removes just about everything from water leaving you with pure h2o

How about a backflow preventer?

For most installions it shouldn't be necessary unless your hose is quite long. I would consult a plumber to be sure though as that is really beyond my expertise

What is the practical difference between the old and the new heads?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
The new head has a built in flush valve so you do not have to purchase it. This makes changing filters easier because you have to flush a filter before use.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Thanx! Unfortunately, in a condo it can be plumbed only using an aluminium pipe (not a flexible pipe), which means the machine will be not movable on the countertop, so no plumbing for me. :-(

what regulator pressure you recommend for an ECM Synchronika?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
We carry a generic one but pretty much any kind will work. It's not a complicated piece of equipment. Just make sure it has fittings that are compatible with your setup
@andyp85964 жыл бұрын
@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada I formulated the question wrong. I already have the water filter set up and installed already ( purchased form your store together with the ECM machine). I have a pressure regulator set up for 2 bar ( as read by the Synchronika gauge). Would you recommend leaving it at that or change to another setting (eg. 3 bar)?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
@@andyp8596 I'm sorry, I misread your question. You were asking about the pressure. 2-3 bars is fine. The pump does the rest.
