Why not just get a plug tester to test polarity on power points? They're $25 and take 1/10 the time to use.

Howdy there, polarity testing is to be completed before livening the installation! Polarity testers on the market do not differentiate between N and E transpositions either (to my knowledge!). I believe using the custom-made plug as shown is the quickest method to ensure polarity testing is completed to current wiring standards
