Great video, I have a brand new car and didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds on polishing equipment for such new paint, I've polished by hand and sealed in with a ceramic coat spray and it looks absolutely stunning, but it did take me 6 hours to rinse, wash, clean, dry, polish and coat. I've actually washed it again since and it was much quicker and easier to get great results than usual.

Some great advice for beginners Dave. As you have pointed out, hand polishing is a very labour intensive job, and needs a whole day or more to get the best results. Some of the cars I work on can only be done by hand, so I know full well the aches and pains you end up with. Looking forward to your next video.

@dalydetailz2120
@dalydetailz2120 Жыл бұрын
@@zaidhchoudhry512 no, although some components on super cars can only be reached by hand polishing, I am referring more towards classic and historic vehicles with delicate original paint. Very true Dave. Great video with very good tips and advice there 👍. You can achieve good results with hand polishing. People just need to be realistic in their expectations. It's no good them thinking they're going to be able to remove all scratches and imperfections. However, hand polishing can bring back to life faded single stage paint and help to reduce the noticeability of scratches in the clear coat especially if using an all in one polish.

Before using clay you need to perform a full decon to remove as much contamination as possible, this will prevent the clay turning brown and horrible, and the clay will last loads longer. Also keep turning the clay, in on itself otherwise you’ll end up potentially damaging another area with contamination the clays picked up elsewhere. Also clay will mar the paint so it’s going to take a lot more effort by hand. Machine compound/polish at speed 6 all day long 🤪

I wish I had a machine to polish my car but it feels like a waste of £200+ ( which I can’t really spare) for just my own car when I can get good results with a hand polish even though it’s very time consuming and painful on the shoulder 😆.

I have very light swirling, mostly from hand washing and drying. I don't have access to a machine right now so I have to correct the car by hand. The question is polish or compound? I'm thinking a light polish since the paint is already in very good shape.

Your typical super resin polish will only slightly enhance it as there isn't much abrasives in it so if you do use it then follow with good protection

Hello!! How are you? Just one thing that does not feel right business wise. - Why charging less for a hand polish that takes double the time?? Do you think a one pass machine polish is to offer in the "normal" package? It is more energy and time effective than the hand polishing. What is your take on this one? My thoughts - Get a 1 pass machine polishing included in the normal package, and the hand polish per panel in the upsell list! Hoping for your reply! Best regards João Moutinho Ferreira @ Porto, Portugal!

@@epicautomotivedetailing So, business wise, it is better to sell in the costumer aquisition product, the machine polish... Because in your video about the car pricing (awesome by the way) you have again, the same structure - Hand Polish included in the package - Machine Polish like an upsell (total car and per segment) Just trying to figure out the best way to create a business that is optimized. So it is good to have someone like you getting back with some experience and awesome feedback!
