need to sand it by hand with water , 600 grit to 1200 to 2000 to 3000 and then polish with mothers and you will have a mirror finish!

The challenge with the brass wheel is those marks take a while to sand out.. I sand the same as you, then go Autosol, Peek then Mothers.. I have done rough cast aluminium to a chrome result, yes it took a while. Thx for your help any electric tool is quicker.
