Ive been doing this with mothers for years now. Here are Some extra tips. 1. If you are polishing a long barrel use a table vice with rubber grips to hold the barrel in place for you. 2. To clean off the mag polish once done polishing alternatively is to use dish soap as the detergent in the dish soap will easily wash it away. Use warm running water and a cleaning rod with white cloth and keep passing till the water is clear and when the cloth looks clean. In all honesty cleaning your barrel regularly this way is much better and more effective than using silicone spray or just dry. Great vid!

@@referenceplz5547 technically the reasoning to do this is to try and even out the inside of any non uniformity. I think this can help brass barrels with that. Other coated barrels you shouldnt need to do this but i still suggest cleaning them before use with dish soap and a cleaning rod.

As always, another great video, thanks! One question, doesn't the wobble of the plastic rod cause damage to the inner barrel? I tried this on one of my older barrels and I'm pretty sure the plastic rod touches the inside of the barrel since it's not perfectly straight. Especially if it's a longer barrel, e.g. 15-20 inches. Also, would it matter if you gripping the barrel in the drill vs gripping the rod?
@40mmmikemike Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recommend putting the barrel in the drill because the drill might grip the barrel too tight and deform it. No need to polish the outside anyways. And ya it's probably possible that the rod could scratch the inside of the barrel, but it's probably still better than not polishing a cheap barrel.

Heyy dude ! I notice you recommend to use an R-hop with a lonex 70° bucking. Why using a hard bucking instead of a soft one ?
@MFCClan3 жыл бұрын
Soft is for .20 bbs and hard is for heavier bbs which you should use if your r-hopping to prevent the bb from arching up.

If I’m wrong please correct me
@fabienferreira14633 жыл бұрын
@@MFCClan well I heard that too. But when R-hoping, it doesn't matter if it's a soft or hard, to the extent the hop up effect will be given by the r-hop, so I guess there is another reason to use a hard bucking, maybe for a better air seal ?

Hey guys, I have a question. I bought a boneyard Cyma 31d. I was told it was missing a spring, and when I got it the trigger was completely dead. With fresh lipo, I pulled the trigger and it made no noise. Is this the trigger switch spring? I'm not very accustomed to tech work, and I'm gonna replace it when I do a shim job

There is no point in polishing the outside, though.
@GladlyKillmore3 жыл бұрын
Not true. First, if you use any thread tape to shim the inner barrel with the outer, you want it to have a smooth clean surface to adhere to. Second, if you want your barrel and bucking to seal as good as possible, not counting thread tape or glue, you again, would indeed want to do this.
