The thing that struck me about this video is how adaptive these guys are; no whining about not being exactly what they thought it would be, just followed through with their commitment and 'got er done!' Obviously a great company to do your work.

This is great - I really enjoyed the video. You guys are real pros who clearly take pride in your work. The final texturing with the broom looked so satisfying. I arrived here looking for instructional videos to help me with a small walkway in my backyard next summer, but I think I'll start with a smaller job doing a 3 x 4' pad in front of my basement door, as a way to get a feel for open time and finishing and so on. Thanks again, aprreciate you sharing.

for DIY folks using Quickrete. don't feel bad if you can't get the surface smooth, it's not you, it's the aggregate in quickrete. they have small jagged gravels, which gets caught on the trowel and make things really hard. bigger round river stones don't get caught when you trowel, and much easier to work with. one trick you can do is, pour the quickrete 1/4" below where you want to finish, and top it off with Type S mason mix, which is sand and portland cement only, with no gravel.

Can you explain how you decide on slump and also what you look for before starting the next process in terms of moisture. It would be nice to see the concrete up close before you start each step to kind give a better idea. As always, thanks for the videos.
