I'm always paying attention to how you hang different pieces. Most of the time they look pretty straight forward.

yeah most are pretty simple but sometimes I gotta get creative lol

Did some small pipes last week. And what i did instead was taped around the bump thinking the hose will cover that. But yeah should below off the powder. Or the plugs would of came in handy since the were about an 1" diameter.
@UnknownCoatings4 жыл бұрын
yeah I dont like the tape lines mostly because it looks tacky in photos before install lol

Maybe you could do a video on tips and tricks for powder coating gloss black on flat surfaces. I do a lot of dirt track car wings, A/B pillars and end plates that are flat and gloss black is my most difficult color..
@UnknownCoatings4 жыл бұрын
what style tip? a flat tip is GREAT for doing panels.

You ever use that color as a base for a candy? I've been thinking about using a super metallic silver with a red candy for my personal calipers. Need to do a test piece first I guess lol.
@UnknownCoatings4 жыл бұрын
nope, but I have been debating it. I typically just use Super Chrome or Heavy Silver
@thekolorfactory72264 жыл бұрын
I’ve used Alien silver as a base, it looks nice.

I am trying to have my intercooler piping powdercoated and the company just messaged me saying their powdercoat will flake with excessive heat in my engine bay. Does this mean I can't go to any old powder coater and have my pipes done without a specialty powder ?
@UnknownCoatings4 жыл бұрын
I have never had an issue and I have done hundreds of pipe setups. Sounds like your coater knows they don't do proper prep work ahead of time and will likely flake under extreme temps

Question for ya .. if they are still in reg stage like fresh made piping that still Looks aluminum .. do u still have to blast them ?
@UnknownCoatings Жыл бұрын
Blasting is done to create a mechanical bond to the parts
@UnknownCoatings Жыл бұрын
So yes blasting is ideal. Now if you want to use the polished finish as your "base" for a candy color, you can do that as well but with limited impact resistance

is your blow gun pressure regulated down any or are you just careful how much you pull the trigger?
@UnknownCoatings4 жыл бұрын
its all trigger based, I love this particular gun because I modified the spring/trigger assembly
