Excellent. The video is so well done it really does not need words. It can be useful to speakers of any language. For placing the leads on myself, I tied knots instead of black marks (properly placed while elastic is relaxed) and could then feel the knots to locate positions.

Simple and accurate, for those who use metric (I do), in the video using the inches is not a problem because the idea is to mark the 10% 20% points along the tape, and since the tape stretches, you can use it on different lengths while the percentages are preserved and valid. Great video, thanks!

I’m confused as to why you’re not explaining anything? The irritating foam noise is not helping 😆. And why elastic? I do like the markings but not sure why it’s on elastic?

Wait why are you doing it like this? That’s wrong. So very wrong. We don’t use inches in 10-20. And 10 refers to 10% and 20 to 20percent of certain measurements. No measurement is static. It’s always a percentage of the total. Nasion to inion measurement (usually 34-36cm not always) is divided into segments of 20% of itself after moving 10% up from nasion and inion. This is just immensely wrong. I would be more than happy to provide proper instruction for no reason other than to insure the incorrect way is no longer spread

It doesn't matter if we are using inches centimeters or a 3rd made up measurement since as you said it's the percentage the matters. The video is correctly simplifying it to help anyone understand the principal so they do not mess up the percentages, which is also confirmed by using a stretching tape that preserves the percentages between the marks along the tape. Hats off for the excellent silent simple video.

It's elastic, marked at 10 and 20 percent of the elastic, and then stretched. So long as it stretches evenly you still end up with 10 and 20 percent. Cm vs in is irrelevant. It's similar in concept to the brainnet. Not perfect, but not awful either.

I like the elastic part of measuring but how do you measure on a real head? By that I mean how do you place the markings with the pen while holding on to each end of the elastic. I would need a third hand :-)
@ydelton
@ydelton 9 жыл бұрын
+Anne Marie Johansen, great question. You will need to practice with a second person, one holding the elastics, the other marking the foam head.
@ydelton
@ydelton 8 жыл бұрын
+Yohan Delton, once you have mastered the foam head, you will be able to place the electrodes on the real head without much difficulty.

You can use the same elastic on a real head; just don't use the sharpie on the head ;)

Yohan Delton place the marks using a meter, after measuring the head, or just before if you are using an elastic tape like the video shows. The point is to be accurate with the 10 20 percentages.

I have to practice measurements and applications, what do you recommend I use? I'd like to know where you bought those little sticky orange circles or did you make them? This is a great tutorial, thanks. Any advice is appreciated. Someone told me to buy a glass head, this way I could practice over and over and not have to worry about markings because I could simply wipe it away. What are your thoughts?
@ydelton
@ydelton 8 жыл бұрын
+TheDreamhouse2010 , I would go for a foam head; it only costs about $10 in a store like Hobby Lobby, or JoAnn, or Michaels. I would also get stickers in a store like Walmart. Overall, stay on the inexpensive side. Once you become a master, then perhaps get a glass head for demonstrations. You can get a second foam head where you can place the stickers directly onto it, and compare it with the head that has the markings and stickers; the most important is the ability to place an electrode without having the markings. It takes practice. Hope this helps a little.

inion is usually right on top f the little bmp on the back of your head. not all heads have one, but all have a noticeable divot or something like it

hi sir, thanks for your sharing. but i have a question, why are this electrodes placed in this way? are there any relation with the particular cortical region of brain? or in some experiment there might be certain waves which are very obvious compared with the others, and they are only situated at certain position, does that related to the position of cortical regions too?
@ydelton
@ydelton 9 жыл бұрын
Goh Vh The placements have direct relations to the cortical regions of the brain; the electrode placements are determined by an assessment of the client's needs. Every region will capture the major brain waves and tell a story. Hope this helps a little. Cheers.

Jessica Köhli you can use anything as long as you maintain the correct percentages between marks, the elastic tape used in the video is great because you can use it on different lengths as shown in the video while preserving the percentage. This is one of if not the best video for 10 20 placement

This is by far the WORST method of the 10-20 system placement that I have ever seen. It is not close to being accurate. The 10-20 system is based on the metric system, not inches. Unbelievable.
@omaralamr9712
@omaralamr9712 5 жыл бұрын
C.E. Ford metric, imperial, or whatever measurement you use does not affect percentages, 10 20 refers to 10% 20% which are percentages, the whole point of the stretching tape is to preserve the percentage between the marks. This video is actually so simple and very accurate...
