How to practice for the UKCAT

We got the "How to Master the UKCAT", 5th edition and it was unbelievably sloppy - mistakes, outright inaccuracies, etc. I wouldn't recommend it. We used the online course she references, it was much much better.

Hows everyone ukcat go? I got 1720 & band 1. Don't know whether its good or bad? Or worse ..?

1720 overall is around 573 average. I'd recommend looking into doing the bmat and make sure u smash it. Try not to apply to ukcat heavy universities.

Hey so I got my GCSE results yesterday and I got 7A/A* and 2Bs,I don't think they're still strong enough for when I apply to uni (I'll be doing medicine)-is it still worth to apply to medical colleges like imperial in London,who do base a lot of stuff on GCSEs,provided I ace my A levels(as in AS) (doing Chem+bio+maths)? Thanks! X

Your grades will certainly be good enough for some unis if it goes along with a good UKCAT, but be especially careful with your fifth choice so you can go down the graduate route (like me)!

Cailean Dolan Imperial is a lot lighter with GCSE'S, ace your bmat and you're through

I am thinking about taking all 3 sciences and maths for A levels because I really want to do medicine but I have a feeling it's too heavy and too stressful..do u know if taking these subjects is a good idea or will I fall behind because of how heavy these subjects are?

***** I agree...I am not too confident on physics either but most universities consider other subjects as not important or weak. Do you have any suggestions for other subjects? I havent done geography or history for geography so i cannot take that for a level. What subjects did you take?

Are calculators aloud for the BMAT, UKCAT??

i dont know about BMAT, but for UKCAT, there is an onscreen calculator you can use, and you can use the keyboard to type in the numbers

Its extremely dodgy though your best off just practising your basic maths to avoid using it and thus wasting precious time. Good Luck!
