This is exactly how my Band teacher has us do it, but I rarely get to practice at home because there's to many distraction because my family thinks band isn't important, yet every time i don't have plan to do other stuff and have free time I only practice with my flute as much as possible making sure to only progress further once I've fixed my mistake, and during school even if we go through all the music sheets and we can get free time to do whatever we want before the period ends i still keep practicing, and after band for me is lunch so I can keep practicing before or during lunch time I can come back in the band room for a bit, I usually keep a big bottle of water on me because my mouth tends to get super dry in the middle of playing the flute and after playing the flute. I go to Bayside Highschool and I'm in Concert Band, and we went to MPA for the first time in years matter and we went for comments instead, if we went for rating we would got between a good and excellent, so that was great, and I thought I was gonna fail the symphonics band audition exam and surprisingly passed it with flying colors. but that's is all thanks from watching your videos.👍

I practiced Waltz of Utopia yesterday. I first play the whole piece 2 times and find my mistakes. There were 3 mistakes. And I went step by step. It probably took 3 hours. So today I can play it.😊

I used to practice 1 entire section for a day, usually around the 3 hours... but I found it harshful for me, specially shoulders started to injured, so I divided into two moments, 1 hour at morning in wich I practice technique and scales, tonguing vibratos and many sorts of this general things... and by afternoon or it could be nigth, I just warmup a bit and get into the sheets that take in that moment, whit not limit time, but going free, just stop if I do feel like it, it could be some minutes or 2 hours I dont think I overpases the 2 hours... I found practicing like this, less hard to myself and also it increse my level 😃😄 and also made more agredable the practicing now that I havent to think into a large section, instead two parts (less damega to my body, more rest, and I can also add more recreative moments with random [anime, videogames music] ) a win win 😃😋
