As a Retired Marine, thank you for tending to those soldiers. During my years of service from boot camp on my wife and I were blessed to have some wonderful priests, one of whom so impressed and explained our Catholic faith my then protestant wife, that she converted and we remarried in the Base chapel on Camp Lejeune. After returning from Afghanistan, Father Joe, helped me tremendously to deal with both moral injuries and reconciliation. With that said, finding this video this morning was very timely as I have felt as if my prayers have been mechanical the past couple days and I have been easily distracted. Thank you for your videos. Vivat Jesus

Your humility in your sharing is very touching. Just attended adoration today and the time I spent in silence was more vital to me that the prayers I said. The power of prayer is surely to listen to what God has to say I suppose. Merci Beaucoup encore.

Converted to Catholicism and the memorized prayers were a conundrum - until I leaned in to them. They have been my 'hallmark' cards - perfect words that I don't have the elegance to put together but they say my heart better than I can a lot of times. Fr Groeschel really kicked this off for me when he said the 'rosary is a place we enter into' - that was revolutionary for me. I say / go to the rosary every day. Fr Harden explained to pray without ceasing was to at the beginning of the day pray about what to do - what good I could do; How to do it; decide in prayer with Jesus and then carry it out with the doing.... the prayer of action all day - decided on with the Lord. Loved it. Has totally made the difference - spiced all day with arrow prayers. Thank you Father - I so enjoy your videos.

This is totally relatable to me 😅, today I started to pray my rosary in a more deeper way. I make sure I am focusing on who I am praying to. St. Teresa of Avila also said to know whom you are praying to. The first layer of the interior castle is to set your mind on God and do not be distracted to other things.

What a great talk Father Mark! Sometimes on a clear night, I'll go outside and look up into God's magnificent creation of the universe and "empty" myself to the Lord. Often, I feel like I'm the nearest to God is under the canopy of a starry sky.

Perhaps we might say that vocal prayer is the structure which holds our private prayer up (guides it) and from which our private prayer extends (is complemented by private prayer, to address our specifics) .

PRAYER OF SURRENDER Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, My memory, my understanding And my entire will, All I have and call my own. You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours; do with it what you will. Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me. Amen. Prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola

This is such a beautiful talk and reminder. I can still recall looking at St. JPII and his face was the expression of deep prayer and engagement. You've heard stories where commotions could be happening around him but he would never flinch or get distracted as his prayerful heart was entirely engaged and connected with God, Jesus, Our Lady, and all. I strived to have his focus and true devotion. I find that for myself, it's a lot easier to engage from the heart when my eyes are closed, so I remove the temptation to react to my environment, especially when praying the rosary before Mass begins and parishioners are talking and settling in. Thank you for this video. So beautiful. God bless!

Thank you so very much. What you have just shared is accurate for so many of us. As Catholics we have so many beautiful devotions there is no way we could ever satisfy our appetites for them. In a way you have just described the perfect parent-child relationship.... vacations, holidays, gifts, parties are wonderful but the the day to day interactions are what form us and give us the confidence that we are loved, our thoughts and ideas have value and our actions are important.

I’m on my last 14 days of a 54 day novena. I’m really struggling to know if my prayers are heard. Most weeks I start my week with a 3 or 5 hour drive to a customer’s site. I got in the habit of not turning on the radio, praying a Rosary and just trying to be with the lord. i was not sure if I was praying with my heart. I try, but like all of us, I’m human and my mind drifts. I did a search on KZbin for ‘how to pray from the heart’ and this video show up! This message meant sooo very much to me. (62 year old man and I have big, wet eyes. I needed to hear this message) It’s such a simple thing. Turn off your radio. Tell Jesus you would prefer to spend the time with him. Even if you don’t pray the Rosary, be Christ like and see God in everyone. It’s a tiny sacrifice. Every week, when I drive 3 and sometimes 6+ hours, with no radio on, I’m only starting to realize how absolutely serene those hours are for me.

As a Protestant, I’ve always struggled with public prayer. I don’t like having to pray in front of other people. I have a great private prayer life, I just prefer to keep it private. Also, I’ve never really felt like I should be using “rote prayers”. The denomination I grew up in was always deeply suspicious of things that were “too Catholic”. Never mind that rote prayers can be very useful. You’re always just supposed to “talk to God directly, you know, like he’s your best friend”. Yeah, I never felt frustrated at all.

father thank you , I know the times when my heart is not in my prayers. My prayers sorta ramble. I love the story of your friend I always talk to our lord because I believe that he's always with me and I speak that I may be with him. Amazing always, Father I was hoping you might speak about the church. I always pray the rosary at home I wanted to pray it before mass but I get intruded by people speaking before mass in the entrance way in the church not being quite. I'm sorry I know I should focus but the noise is such a distraction. I had to go and find a quiet place to do the rosary before mass started I was hoping to get your advice on this

Okay. For those who do not know, I am a Sikh. Even though we have a different form of prayer, I still pray at the end of the day. The thing is, IDK if God is with me in the moment or not, and I really want to make sure He's hearing me. Sometimes I'm at least lucky that He hears my call. But I really want to make sure that He is actually with me when I'm praying and conversing with Him. Any ideas how to do so? Also Ascension, do you plan on doing a video about what God has planned for our future? I ask because I've been having this struggle recently.

I would like a Bible study on God’s Divine Heart. What has God revealed in Scriptures about His personality, His desires, His Divine Will, what makes Him happy? and joyful? What makes Him sad? What makes Him angry? A deep study because Jesus The Incarnation is The Sacred Heart of The Heavenly Father. Can you do that?

We are to pray to the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, after we have repented and believed the Gospel.

But God already knows what's in our heart. So I find it inauthentic to pretend otherwise. I like to engage with the Holy Spirit and ask him questions, ask for guidance. I find that He answers even before I've finished the thought. But I really struggle with what I call free-range prayer. At 72 I much prefer my Catholic prayers, the Rosary and the Divine Office plus little "ejaculations" that the nuns taught us and making offerings for the Holy souls etc. There's an abundance of riches in our ancient prayers and the advice of our saints. I find The Little Flower provides the perfect guidance for getting close to Our Father and His Son and The Spirit who emanates from Their Love. God bless.

Protestants don't want to acknowledge any legitimacy of Catholicism as it threatens their raison d'etre... It's political. They don't want reconciliation with the Catholic Church for fear of losing their petty fiefdoms. I was protestant for almost 50 years and was in many denominations. Now I'm home.

Hey!!, dont do that.... dont discount non Catholics relationship to God, by saying they are somehow missing the fullness of the relationship bc they dont have the mass. Ridiculous. Christ is Christ. Some can receive Him in physical form via the Eucharist or in the hug/community of the Body of Christ. That kind of Catholic elitism, wont help fortify a Catholics' faith, only their self righteous piety.
@msgoody2shoes9593 жыл бұрын
..also non Catholics have confession... the Amish have public confession, like the "Chapter of Faults" in religious orders. Some could say you dont know the fullness of community/the Body of Christ until you have to confess your sins to the entire community. True forgiveness from the Body of Christ, is special and truly humbling.
