Asalam walaykum everyone, I hope this comment helps you. So, whenever you make a sin, any sin and want to get rid of it but can't cuz shaitaan always makes you do it then you pray two rakats. For example, if u wanna quit cigarettes but can't. Then pray 2 rakats of istagfar after drinking cigarette. If you used 3 cigarettes a day, after using each, just pray two rakats = 6 rakats. Shaitaan loves when you do a sin. But he hates a lot when you repent or do a good deed. So after few or more days, when you go to commit the sin, shaitaan with only say "don't do it"

5:55 for dua. It has a mistake in the last sentence. @@fsheik1127 some people expect a sign after their istikhara. Like a good / bad dream, something mystical etc that is meant to indicate whether they should go ahead or not. This is not what istikhara is about, i.e. the heavens don't open up and a light shines down on the right way. Istikhara is about asking for the best of what will happen and for protection from the bad once you've made a decision. Allah knows best. Hope that's a decent elaboration for you 😁

If you are refering to things like music and masterbation then know that indeed they are haram. For music there's an explicit hadith and in it it mentions that those who consider the use of musical instruments lawful, " Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."" and for the matter of masturbation, People at the time of the prophet came up to him about their sexual desires and he advised them to Fast to suffice the desires and get married as soon as possible. if masturbation was valid he would have mentioned it. Hopefully this helps you out and if your issue was not mentioned id be glad to help if you would tell what it was you were confused about.

Yeah from my understanding istikhara is prayed in order to ask Allah to facilitate a decision so if it is not right, Allah will not allow it to go ahead xx

Istikhara is done after making a decision. Decide whether you want khula or you want to live with your husband and then make istikhara. Id advise you and your husband to take a counselling session. May Allah make it easy for you

These are misconceptions spread by people without knowledge. You won't get any signs, no dreams, nothing. Istikhara is basically making a decision by choosing something and then making Dua by asking Allah to put barakah in the decision if its good for you and to keep it away from you if it's harmful for you, read the translation of istikhara Dua in Bukhari 1162 Hadith, you'll understand the purpose of istikhara.

Istikhara should be done after making a decision, now ofcourse you'll need knowledge on a particular issue in order to make a good decision. Read the translation of istikhara Dua, you're asking Allah azzawajal to put blessings in your decision if it is good for you and you're asking Allah to keep you away from this particular thing if it's bad for you.
