Going to use some drags next year. Love your lures and bait. HellFire is not aloud near the house and the postman hates me when he delivers it.

Jeff would you use a drag on live market coyote trapping?
@DunlapLures-SheTraps4 жыл бұрын
I never personally have.i know chip davis does with success but from me doing it I can't say yes or no especially as picky as they are on the feet these days.

I’ve heard of people putting a weight or even another drag in the middle of the chain to prevent coyotes from picking the drag up and walking off. Does this hold true and do you modify your drags like this anytime?
@DunlapLures-SheTraps4 жыл бұрын
Nope I just use them like they come.i only use sabertooth drags and have no issues.the coyote picking up the the drag and carrying it is a trapper wives tale from trappers who used junk drags.imagine a coyote just caught with ten foot of jingling chain behind him stopping and saying if I pick this up I can get away.

Appreciate your question on it

Dunlap Lures Do you ever “preset” the drag like by wrapping it around something or putting it sideways in between 2 trees or are you using them to get out of sight? Just asking because I mainly use them if I can’t get a stake in the ground.
@DunlapLures-SheTraps4 жыл бұрын
Yep I'll wrap them sometimes. Depends on why I'm using them. Too get them out of sight or cant get a wolf fang in.just depends on situation. Theres no right or wrong answer really

Love using drags, most of my trapping is in major ag land though... worried about coyotes taking them 1/4 mile away.
